"Today, Sony Computer Entertainment exec Kaz Hirai announced "Life with PlayStation" for the PS3. During the presentation, the "Life" was demoed for the audience for the first time - the service shows the Earth, and users can access current news and weather for locations around the world. It's possible to even pull up the full article from the headline. Users can also set background music while looking at the early, checking the weather and the world news. Hum, i dont really care for it much, its a interesting feature to know you have, but i cant really imagine people booting it up every morning to get their news fix, i sure as hell dont on Wii so theres no reason i would on PS3, even if i do play the PS3 more.gekidami

I can honestly tell you that I was jealous of the News Channel on my brother's Wii. Now that PS3 will be getting this, I'll be happy to constantly get updated on world affairs. And yes, I could get my news from CNN/MSN/BBC but why go looking when it will all be aggregated on my PS3 for me?

Damn just another thing to delay IMO.

Lol, we wont have time to be happy about 2.4's release, we'll just instantly start to go on about all these other, 'soon-to-be-delayed' feature.

So they are giving the contents of Home separately? Before someone starts, this was announced first as a feature of Home in the beginning.kenshinhimura16

How does the News Channel on Wii work? What I'm wondering is will we be able to get video feed of the news or is it just a brief marquee and/or news articles?
