i have a ps3 and i was excited with the video on demand service on ps3 but i have netflix also so i was wondering if microsoft's deal is going to be permanent or will sony eventually be able to strike a deal with netflix and offer connectivity as well
PS3 already has its own videos on demand service so it really doesn't need netflix partnership and PS3 has guaranteed HD capable videos while they have yet to say if the Netflix service will or not. As of right now they already have movies from Lionheart, Paramount, Disney, Warner Brothers, Fox, and of course Sony.

yea but doesnt a netflix partnership allow me to just watch on demand movies for free since i already have a netflix membership? itll be a simple way to hook up VOD movies onto my tv

I'm wondering the same thing. I've already rented some movies from the Playstation Store, but I've had a netflix membership for several years and it would be nice to be able to use that too.
