Should i get one with or without the Gold Pating? Because the Gold ones are REAL EXPENSIVE!

Cheapest one possible, they're all basically the same, if there's any difference it's completely unnoticeable.
Avoid overpriced cables as they all work the same low to high-end ones but, they tend to wear off differently. I say you get a mid-priced HDMI cable from a reputable brand. But then, the decision is up to you and your budget.
HDMI cables use a digital signal.
With digital its 0's and 1's - it either works or it doesn't. There are no variables.
So in terms of audio and video quality, a £50 HDMI cable will perform exactly the same as a £5 HDMI cable ect.
But one of the biggest benefits of gold plating is it protects the plug ends from corrosion.
Well ya..... i bought the Ebay one :P Its going to arrive in like a MONTHHDMI cables use a digital signal.

From my experience with hdmi cables... u should get the gold plated hdmi because they work better, more reliable and have better picture quality.
The answer to that question is "maybe". The "tech" answer would say that both silver and copper connectors beat out gold connectors in terms of conductivity and performance in hdmi cables since they are better conductors of electricity (silver>copper>gold>aluminum>zinc>platinum>etc). However, both silver and copper, silver especially, will tarnish a bit over time which can affect performance. While "technically" better than gold tipped connectors, the difference you would notice is almost neglible for most applications and gold tipped connectors can now be found online at very low prices. A silver/copper tipped hdmi cable should last the life of any electrical piece of equipment with proper care and would "technically" be a better buy than gold ones for the true "tech geeks" out there as silver/copper roughly offers a +20% improvement in conductivity compared to gold. In the real world however, your eyes/ears probably wouldn't be able to really tell the difference between the metals, as the real improvements are coming from the HDMI cable itself when compared to other forms of connecting your PS3 to your monitor.

It's a well known fact that all HDMI cables are the same quality, it's the beauty of digital. From my experience with hdmi cables... u should get the gold plated hdmi because they work better, more reliable and have better picture quality.

I got one with gold plating for $19.99. Don't know what brand it is, but it's a really good cable. It was a lot cheaper than buying the sony cable for about $80 :DDoolz2024I hear that!

Check out this "review" of HDMI cables, I guarantee you it's some of the funniest stuff you'll ever read.

I quote:
"...the results are noticeably good, especially for colour fidelity, with superbly natural skin tones and subtlety in detail."
"Pictures appear smooth, pristine and noise-free, contrast and detail are superbly defined and the colours are gorgeous, rich and natural."
"It's ideal if you like more naturalistic hues as its colour reproduction does not seem quite as warm as with some of the cables here."
"Overall its performance has a slightly dull sheen compared to the luxury cables."
"Colour looks solid and subtle, notably with flesh tones."
