Any help with this? I was thinking along the lines of an RPG (PreferablyWestern). I need a game I know I could spend a lot of time with (singleplayer wise).
I was thinking maybe Crisis Core or Monster Hunter. But any suggestions would be nice.

Monster Hunter is pretty big (lots of missions, monsters, armor, weapons, etc.) but the camera really hinders gameplay in my point of view. I bought this game and actually enjoyed it for a little while but then sold it cause the camera frustrated me a lot. Crisis Core is a GREAT game , I bought it merely a week ago and I cant stop playin' it, the mission system goes very well on the go and above that has a great story and a fun combat system (its on the easy side though and It can get repetitive). Of those 2 I would surely recommend Crisis Core over MH.
Other option for me is The Warriors, it has really fun combat good interactions with the enviroment and above the main story line it has a double dragon-type minigame that is SO cool and can take another chunk of gameplay hours. On the weak side it has a clumsy camera that sometimes getsin the way, nothing too serious though.
There are some great options - I spent over 50 hours on Jeane D'arc... greattactics game. If you like tactics games, there's a number that would require you to have 50+ hours to complete, including Disgaea and FF Tactics... but Jeane was my favourite.
It terms of action oriented RPGs, FF CrisisCore also burned a lot of hours for me b/c doing the side questsgains you a lot of unique stuffand the main story is great too...Star Ocean was fun at first, but the backtracking got a bitmuch, Tales of the World Radiant Mythology is also a great, long game.
Cheers.
Crisis core is definitely a great choice for replayable single player- on the condition you don't mind comatose enemies who act like punching bags...
Also, if you really like dungeon crawlers- then you might want to check out Valhalla Knights 2... Might... :|
If you don't like dungeon crawlers- then stay FAR away from Valhalla Knights 2. Or if your indifferent towards them- then you should rent it first.
monster hunter freedom is not for everyone, but If it is for you then you can easily get 100+ hours.blooddog28
hes rightMHF is not for every one. but disgaea & FFT are also good games :)
If You Have Time To Visit GameSpot Or GameFAQS For FAQS/Walkthroughs, Then Try Dissidia, Though It Is Still Japanese, Hehe... But It's Really Great, And It'll Take Up Some Time, Levelling Up Your Characters, Finishing The Entire Story Mode, Trying To Get This Equipment Or Something, And It's Really Fun
