Idk im afraid ive heard some people say its not good that the lens will get old quickly thus leading to DREs. Around an average of 2-3 movies a week, will teh ps3 be fine? :(

the ps3 in my opinion is the best blu-ray player on the market. its amazing for watching movies and if you have a 7.1 or even 5.1 surround sound, everything sounds so crisp and the videos play flawlessly. the ps3 will not be ruined, its made for watching movies so you should have no problem with it!

I use it all the time, I have a regular DVD player but it hardly gets used anymore, I use my PS3 as my primary player. I usually watch a movie 3-4 times per week

all the time!! I love my PS3 for movies..and if it ever breaks..screw it Im getting another one. Finally got to see Pirates: At World's End last night on Blu Ray, AMAZING!! I can't even imagine going back to non-HD...maybe for comedies, but for action or adventure movies, never!

All the freakin time! Seriously every-time I want to watch a movie whether it be a blu-ray or dvd, I had bought a $200 Panasonic upconverter for my HD set before I got my PS3, and it turns out the ps3 upconverts dvd's 10 times better than the panasonic standalone upconverter.

I've been watching movies on my ps3 since Jan/07. I watch Blu-rays, dvds (upscales them very well) and tv shows recorded and burned onto dvd-r. I watch anywhere from a few movies a week, to tv season marathons. My ps3 still works great after a year and a half.

My PS3 had become my primary movie player, especially since the only way I want to see movies that I rent or buy is the Blu-ray versions.

I don't play regular DVDs on it. I play Blu-ray on it though fairly often. Since the games and movies use the same format I don't think playing Blu-ray movies should be a problem.
