I use in car view for fun and chase cam for fastest times. GT5 Prologue is the first racing game where my fastest times are from in car view. Its all i use in Gt5 P.
its the only view i use, only gripe is wishing i could look around the actual car that would help a lot. Plus its the most realistic because thats what you would see when you race and when i play GT5 thats what I want realism.
I'm suprised by this poll actually. I thought most people would want to see the beauty of the car they're driving. I guess I'm totally wrong lol. As for me, I don't use in car view in racing games. It makes me a bit nauseous lol. Plus I like to look at the car itself.
i use in-car 100% of the time offline and about 50-60% of the time while online! it is actually easier and you get a better feel for the car than with the standard view. not to mention that it looks absolutely amazing!
The in-car view is what I use. It feels so much more natural since you can see exactly where the nose of the car is pointing, rather than the "loose" chase view.

If I had a steering wheel I would use the in car view but I dont have one. So I use the chase view because I drive better that way and I like to see the car I'm driving.
The only games I dont use that is in NFS kind of games. In Dirt and GT5P I only use the in car view. Not only does it please me (especially in GT where we have the actual panels) but its much easier to drive and to pull better moves in GT
I do, its harder for me to race from a 3rd person view if you will. I can't race actually seing the car on the screen i need either an interior view or a camera like at the front bumper.
I use bumper. I like watching the replays in car. You can get use to in car, with this one thow. Its done so well. On some games that tried it in the past. It was almost impossible. But its done so well on this, I can see alot using it.
the only time i use the in car cockpit view is when i have a huge lead and running away from the rest of the field. otherwise my lap times are better in behind the car view.
i have a 65" and when i play a racing game with the in-car view, i LOVE it. it really feels like i'm in the car, and it makes the game that much more authentic to me. it's the best thing to ever happen to racing games imo
