Yeah I know, I've seen the movie a few times in theatres and am a huge fan of the graphic novel.

Its a kick butt movie on blurayand if you have the ability to do PCM 5.1 the soundtrack will blow you out of your room...the violence, blood and gore in this movie is almost like art

true, but the HD-DVD version has a ton more special features, I think it's like 7 or 8 hours more special features than the Blu-Ray version

It's because Blu-ray Disc Java (BD-Java) content isn't widely being used yet (the only movies I've seen that have BD-Java content on them are Pirates of The Carribean 1 & 2) and supposedly Warner Bros. wasn't able to get the missing 300 features working in time for the Blu-ray release. However, as was reported by the web sites that cover HD DVD & Blu-ray news, during the Comic-Con panel it was suggested that Warner is planning to double dip and release a special edition of 300 on Blu-ray at some point in the future. If it does turns out to be true, I wouldn't be surprised if the missing HD DVD features and (most likely) some brand new features would be included on that disc.

Actually, the reason that theHD DVDversion of the film has what Blu ray doesn't have IS what Blu ray technology isnot compatable(yet). Such as a picture to picture commentary and web enabled content, such as buy cell ringtones and wallpapers for your cell phone. However is one advantage of the Blu ray version has over is the addition of a full blown5.1 UncompressedPCM (48kHz/16bit/4.6Mbps) for the film. Both HD DVD and Blu ray versions have a Dolby trueHD track that is also (48kHz/16bit) however the bitrateis variable, so it does not stay at the same bitrate, unlike PCM. But i did heard PCM tracks sound slightly better (but not by much). could bethat they are usually at 3.5 Mbps.

There is a noticeable difference in quality when going from the DVD to Blu-Ray when watching this movie on an HDTV. It is one of those movies that you want to watch in the highest possible resolution with the best sound quality. Well worth my $24.99.

Yeah.. that kind of bothered me at first, but after a few minutes into it, I forgot about it. It's great on Blu-Ray. Great movie. And, I couldn't believe it was only $5 more than the DVD version. Then again, I only have about 7 BDs now, and I don't buy them often, but Pearl Harbor set me back $30, and the same with The Transporter.

Yes, very true. 300 on blu-ray has a GRAINY look to the film. But so does the hd dvd version. If you want a non-grainy movie. Get Casino Royale.

I had 10 people at my house and watched it on a 60" Sony SXRD. We all thought it looked great. In my opinion if you're seeing a lot of graing you're sitting to close.

This movie of Blu-Ray is one hell of a ride. It looks awesome and it will not dissapoint. I did not notice the shadow flicker that some people said that their movie had so maybe I just got a good copy I don't know. Then again I am not a videophile so maybe I just didn't notice. Either way it was awesome.
