You can`t get them on the PS3. Unless someone starts making viruses for the PS3. Unless they are made to do anything to the PS3 operating system your fine. Thats why they always say that Mac's cant get viruses, no one cared enough to make any real big ones for the Mac OS. Now its a little bit of a different story, but I doubt many viruses will or have been made targeted towards the PS3.
dont trust em , they just wanna keep you feel safe , always activate the firewall and install antivirus software to ensure your ps3 will be ok , i already had a few bluescreens from surfing on somesuspicious webistes
