Make a game where you have 40 players ONLINE blasting the heck out of eachother and not have a single dip in FPS. Even thoughout the entire campaign you do not have a single dip in FPS. But yet EA can't make a football game with solid FPS ...let alone 60 FPS. They say PS3 is hard to develop for? If so how the heck did Insomniac get it right for a launch title?!? EA has had what a year or a 2 on this system's hardware? WTF gives?
It may because that being a small company they had no problem asking Sony for some help from there developer teams with the games. On the other hand the bigger company has there heads so far in the clouds that they think they don't need any kind of help.
That and insomniac is really a first party studio. It's independent but it's funded by sony, so it focuses specifically on playstation consoles, the ps3 more now. Hence, it will produce better games because it's focused on the ps3 and in a sense was given proper teaching by sony.

So are you saying that if EA also receives proper teaching from the console's maker they can also make their games work normally on it? Even though they probably have 10-20 times more devs than insomniac?In the end they are just lazy.

Types in a few different lines of coding and sends it on up to the next guy.****

Resistance in HD at some points is one of the best looking games you will ever see to this date. A lot of people talk about how resistance's graphics don't look all that great, well they obviously aren't looking at it in HD. The framerate is perfect but I think the best looking thing is when the glass cracks after shooting it, I don't think anyone can disagree that its the most realistic looking thing in any video game.
i remember madden 2000 and 2001. oh, and 2005, were probably the best maddens ever created.
oh and as for most game deveopers wanting money,... rockstar .... delay ... ea.... a great football ffranchise that is slowly dying off, money makes the world go round.. as long as we buy it, they will continue to make bad games.
Money makes the world go round' fellas. Some devs have real big egos and think they are great ala EA and thinkthat if they putout a game it will be instantly greatbut others actually care about making quality games that ppl will enjoy aka Insomniac and Infinity Ward.
because insomniac is full of talented developers. places like ea and ubisoft is where people can't think for themselves and make games for money. developers like insomniac, naughty dog, bioware, starbreeze, media molecule are all talented developers that can create games from scratch without having to steal ideas from others. those are developers i'd buy from for sure because talent > business

I put RFOM online over a wireless ethernet and no drp in fps. Smooth as butter so far.
lets not forget that Insomniac has had the Playstation Edge program tools since day 1. third party devs only got their hands on it after GDC07.
if the PS Edge tools really help out on understanding the complexities of the PS3's hardware... i would say that the ones to blame for the boatloads of crappy PS3 ports would be Sony themselves.
Easy, EA is just like the studio that makes a movie based game. They need it fast, quickly, at low budget, on all the consoles and NOW. The results, go and see them. As with movie games, EA wants to cash as much as they want, and they know that most of their titles will sell even if they are crap. Its like some callcenters or services, were they treat clients bad. Since they know they will get new clients, or that what they have is necessary (updated teams in sports games and such) they know clients will return or will be replaced so they dont give a damn about you, me or anybody. $$$ is all that they see. Unlicke other companies that know that to increase the $$$ they need to treat you weel and give you nice experiences so that you may work for them (by speaking well of their stuff and such, I cant figure a word in english at the moment to say it better).

EA is just really lazy. Infinity Ward and Insomniac are treating the PS3 right though. COD4 will run at 60fps with full AA just like 360. Also, why do people buy Madden games? What happend to going outside and playing the sports with your friends, or have gamers gotten lazy too?
It's because the game is on like 10 systems. They've been working on the 360 for a couple years and have it figured out. I gaurantee it will be 60 fps on the PS3 next year.
