I now have less than a gig left on my PS3 hard drive so I really need to upgrade. I asked someone at Gamestop and she told me to check out Sony's website because they have a tutorial and that I'd have to buy a hard drive from Sony. But she also told me that there is no way that I can transfer everything I have on my old hard drive to the new one. I find that hard to believe, there's got to be some way to transfer my files. So what do any of you recommend?

And it's an old 60gb PS3 Phat if that makes a difference.

Do a Google search on "PS3 system software update", and download the update onto a thumb drive, because it will ask you to load that update as soon as you boot it up after installing the new hard drive. Also keep in mind that the screws inside the PS3 are really tight, so get a screwdriver that fits them perfectly and you should be A-OK :D
