I can't get past where he uses his both Consumate Darkness and light and start spewing out Dies irae and Vile Eploitation. Other than that i get to that part pretty fast

The Best party is with

Light as Med

SNow as SEN

adn Vanille as SAB

Snow Remains SEN at all times

Same with Light

And i have Combat clinic with Vanille and light as med

Other team i use is Light Vanille and Sazh

Same as top one but INstead of a SEN, Sazh is a syn

Since he's too weak

I start out trying to poison Orphan which i was amazed at the speed at his hp fell...

But when he starts casting all of his spells when his hp is like near 40% everything unbalances out?

I have almost no GIl to waste on equipment , wasted it all on Lvling up everybody's gear, HP bangles in everybody and that's it

Yeah, i recommend you start the game all over again, not because I'm trying to help but because I'm curious if it would turn you away from RPG's. As for orphan ? Well, its not that your strategy is wrong, its that your party isnt strong enough, go back and grind. The Fault Warrens is a good place to start.

1. Syn, Syn, Sab

2. Rav, Rav, Com

3. Rav, Rav, Rav

4. Com, Com, Com

5. Med, Med, Med

6. Sen, Sen, Sen

Start in 6 to soak the initial hit and then switch immediately to 1 to get buffed asap and to hopefully land a debuff or two. After you are buffed, switch to 2. Right before his stagger gauge pops, switch to 3 and run it to max. After he hits max stagger switch to 4 and pound on him till it ends.

Quickly switch to 6 to soak damage right before it hits and switch to 5 to quickly heal ( with 3 meds it won't even take a full cycle ).

If you landed deprotect/deshell at the start and got fully buffed before unloading and are moderately leveled, he'll die in like 30 seconds.

Edit : all of this is assuming you can shift quickly. If you are slow there will be too much tanking and healing to burn him down before the fight piles up on you.

Pretty much what the above said. Triple class paradigms are the most effective provided you've leveled sufficiently.

Been a while since I beat FF 13. But as I recall, the strategies the two people above me said work pretty well. ALSO, remember to keep him poisoned. The battle went much faster for me that way.

Only thing I can remember is that is was pretty important for me to get him to Shock Status, afterwards depleted all of his HP in one go while he was in Shock State.

Dunno anymore how I did it / with which team / classes, but thought might help a bit as well.

Use the ATB cancel trick. It helps a lot on tough enemies. Also level up.
