In light of the terrible Sony news, just wondering how many people here actually took action already and changed their passwords to anything (emails, facebook, twitter, online bank accounts log ins, etc)?

I will change my PSN login password once PSN gets back online. Other than that i dont see any reason to change anything else, especially since i have multiple e-mail adresses.

I'll just change my psn password once it's back up. My credit card is expiring this month anyway so I'll get a new one in a couple days. Sony wouldn't have any of my passwords to anything else so there's no point in changing them.

When PSN comes back I'll be chaning the password, and changed my email's password just in case. Beyond that, I didn't have any CC info so I should be fine.

I can't remember, did sony require a credit card number to sign up for the network or are credit cards just on there for people who bought PSN content with them? I've only used PSN points cards to buy stuff off of PSN, I never used a credit card on there. I can't remember if I would have had to enter one when I initially signed up.

The e-mail on my PSN account isn't tied to anything else so no worries there. Other than that, already cancelled the cc I had on the account and will change up the PSN pass once things are running again.

You don't need to enter a credit card just to sign up, only if you want to use one to buy stuff on the Playstation Store or if you had Playstation Plus and used a credit card to pay for that.

Nothing special about my account, or the email it's connected to.

If they were to take it I wouldn't really care..

I did change the problematic one.

By some chance I forgot to change my credit information on PSN when I received my new card a few weeks ago, so the card number tied to my account is worthless.

I've heard people say that changing your PSN login password/email can make your PSN account unrecognizable by the user account (or something like that) and interfere with your past game saves as well as trophies?

That's why I'm scared to do so ...

No. I only use the same password on gaming profiles and forums, none of which have any of my financial info tied to them. Stuff like eBay and Paypal I give unique passwords to. Worse case scenario I might have to make a GEE_WIZZ_2 lol.

Just did. My MSN password is now different and when the PSN gets back up I will change it to the new MSN password I have. Is it okay if I change a few numbers? Or do I have to change it completely?

I'm not too worried about my password seeing as I have a different one for PSN. I will change it as soon as it comes back online. Luckily, I've recently got a new debit card, so I don't have to worry about the old one that is saved there. The only thing that bugs me is that they have a good bit of my personal info...

I registered a new email account when I signed up to PSN, which both have the same passwords. I tried to access my email (I never check it) and I'm unable to get in :| I haven't forgotton my password as it's the same as I've been logging in PSN all the time. hmmmmmm

I changed my Steam password and made sure my Battle.net password wasn't the same as my PSN one. Those are the only two services I care about people getting access to.

Oh, and my Windows Live account. Need my email.

There was a FAQ posted on the PS Blog tonight. It sounds like when PSN comes back up a password change will be required.

Not this.

I used the same password in several other places as well (none that are terribly important)... under the impression that no one will ever obtain it :P

So, yea, I had to change a few passwords--and even some email-related sign-in IDs.

How is that related to anything, your passwords for accounts outside of your PSN are not linked unless you use the same email and password for everything. I have a dummy password I use for stupid things such as PSN and crap and then unique passwords for important things which people should do. My CC on file expires this month so I will just keep track of that an not worry about anything else.

I'm going to change my PSN password once everything is up and running. I didn't have any credit or debit card info on there so I should be OK. Thank goodness for PSN cards! I'm only going to use those from now on.

FFS. There are 70 million PSN accounts. Do you think the hackers are trawling through PSN passwords trying to match them with email adresses or Twitter accounts. To be honest, I don't have a clue what my PSN password is, it just auto logs in. The hackers are not interested in personal info, CC info or anything else. It's between them and Sony
