Yeah once. When I first got the PS3 back at launch. I turned on my bluetooth mic while I was playing Resistance online - and it froze the system.
I figured out it was because I didn't register the mic to the system, so I guess that overloaded it or something. I blame that on myself. But it's never frozen while I am playing a game otherwise.
Well when GTA IV wasn't working well at launch it did it twice and 3 times at loading. And I've frozen once when in a lobby in COD4. I also froze during Oblivion like twice I think and UT3 has a account problem so I froze then too, but it's expected since two of those games had glitches and COD4 was on a faulty connection so I don't blame my PS3. I've had it since January 07.
Yeah a few times. Had my PS3 since October and its frozen while playing Warhawk, Uncharted and on Rockband but for RB it only happens if I'm signed in.
yah i have a 60g launch ps3 and its never ever frozen on me... hmm only twice however and tht was recently with GTA IV and also a long time ago with UT3 but its been fine eversince....
Mine freezes maybe once or twice a week, but thats mostly when Im on the internet browser. Games freeze maybe twice a month. Ive had mine for 4 months, and Im loving it.
i got the 60gn from launch, and its been KINDA flawless, only time i get freezes is during GTA4, but other than that i only got ONE freeze and it was during COD4
I think it really depends on the game mate. I don't have problems with most games, but Assassin's Creed froze up almost every time I put it in. That is, until I started using that game for a coaster.

Works just fine as a coaster.

Agreed. If the PS3 has a problem youll know it!!! If the game was built like s$%^ its the game.

I got so lucky with that game.
All I ever got was a weird speed up thing. I tried to explain that to some. And the only thing one said, was maybe clock speed? I was like WTh?? Yea the game went into this odd thing, were the people started to walk awkwardly looking faster, and everything seemed a tad bit like it was in fast forward. Im trying to cath it on vid. And I will, if it ever happens again.
But besides that one awkward moment. Nothing. I got so lucky with that game. Because I saw a few play it after on their machine. And I did indeed see that game freeze.
Never We've had our 80GB since December, and never had problems with it Even during long gameplays, like when we got GTAIV, the PS3 was on till 7 AM till midnight.

no, its just im geting freezes now and then and im wanting to get a good idea if its a problem with my system or if its normal.
freezes all the freaking time for me. not only in the games that have been reprted to freeze, but almost all of them! like seriously if i get bored and decide to play cod4 single player, 1/4 times ill be able to complete a mission without resseting my console. its pissing me off
My 40gb ps3 never froze, but today it froze 2 times, first it froze while i was playing rainbow six vegas online, and then it wouldn't read any discs, but then i let it cool off for 30 minutes,i put it on again, i started working, but after like 2 minutes, it froze again, the same game while playing online, so then now i m letting it cool off again, but for like 2 hours maybe, i hope it starts working again, anyone tell me how to fix this, but i hope it starts working again!
60 gig since launch. The information bar has made my system freeze, along with playing Warhawk a couple of times. NHL '08 has frozen also, but thats it....seems to be no big deal.
i have a 60gig, it froze a couple of times within a few months. then when i got assassins creed it kept doing it alot on that game then it stopped reading discs so i had to get the ps3 replaced. since then with the new one, in the space of about 5 months its only done i about 2-3 times.
