No way. Its not even in the same class as GTA4. This is a monster killing game and also it is not that realistic with the character running up the building and such. Personally, this game doesnt appeal to me at all.

Trying my best not to state the obvious here but it's unavoidable. There's no way of telling until we've played them both. Looking forward to GTA 4 but I have to say that this game is looking unf***ing believable. When are they planning to release it?
I can't speak for how GTA4 will turn out. But what made the other GTA games great from GTA3-GTA:vice city stories was that they did not take themselves serious. The radio stations were fun. And a free roaming game is always great. to be able to do missions when you please or just have fun. And if another game is not like that nobody will care. The clones always fail one way. They seem to force you to do things just to be number 1. And people hate that. People don't want to be forced to do certain task just to play a game.
We've seen trailers for Prototype already, though that one does look pretty nice, almost like Assassin's Creed in modern day.. But I think its likely that Prototype could fall on its face, my money is on GTA4 every day of the week..

A lot of good points brought to this topic. i feel that gta will do better in the sales part and more copy's of gta will go off the shelves than prototype.And i defiantly feel this will be better than crackdown! but the action and story do look and sound better than that of gta. its like they have taken gta and given you wicked special powers. i think we'll be surprised.....
I have followed what little news has come reguarding this game. To tell you the truth, to me, it sounds a little unbelieveable. The developers are really trying to out do themselfs and I fear that the game will take a turn for the worse. They are calling out wayyyy to much that this game "can" do. I guess we will wait until a closer date to finished and then take another look.
On a side note: Saying GTA has met its match.........thats just.............
don't get me wrong i love gta and i will get it for ps3 but i think there is a strong action element missing from the game. shaw there is some car chasing but that's about it. this game is like playing in a big Hollywood movie with all its massive destruction and over the top moves! i love the bit at the beginning when he jump's off that building.
There will be many games that try to "match" gta...the closest one being saints row. When saints row came out I was excited...because it just meant that the next GTA would be that much more wonderful. But any game that comes close...gta will come out with a new one and trump it.
