so dissapointed :(
all it needed was a decent career/license system!

Yeah i was going to get this game with my purchase of the psp go, but now its going to be motorstorm. Ill probably get GT later when It comes down in price but im not paying 40 dollars to get my racing fix. Id rather get motorstorm (which is more fun and exciting imo) and get GT when its 20 or so.
This is very disappointing that sony has yet again only put in the bare minimal to release a game. Its been in development for over 4 years, you'd think they would put in a freaking career mode. I would rather have a career mode than to have 800 cars. And ive read its only a little over 900mbs. They could have used another 100-300 and put in a career mode as umds can hold 1.8gbs.
don't give money to a developer that took years make their game and then comes up with a half-finished product after the long wait. get motorstorm: artic edge. way more better than this piece of ... whoops forgot can't swear. get your money's worth.
i take my previous post back. i should know better than to have full faith in one review! the game still does look really good graphically. and if you love exotic cars, it should be worth it then. i don't know though how good the game play is to have a long lasting effect and keep people playing rather than moving on to a different game.
I hope NFS Shift PSP will be awesome too but I preordered that one for PS3 and it got rated 9.0 on IGN.
But honestly I dont care that much for reviews because one of my favourite games is NFS UndercoverI gave it 9.0 even though it got terrible reviews and that just blows my mind because it is an awesome game and yes I have most of the other NFS games.

Here's a really good review from PSNation.
http://www.psnation.org/2009/09/15/review-gran-turismo-psp/
"There is no "Career Mode" included within. Instead you choose from one of the 35 tracks or any of their variations (different configurations of some, and reverse mode on all,) and work your way up from ****D to ****A on each. You start with 100k credits, which is nice because you can pick-up two or three cars right out of the gate"
Seems very GT5 Prologue'ish so I'm starting to restore faith into this game.
I'm really not that worried since GT5 proper is supposed to come out before the end of this year anyway. We'll see...
No career mode, no upgrades possible (aside from tuning - unless someone can correct me) AND even when you have the CREDIT to buy cars you might not be able to because the manufacturer might not be selling on that day on the in game calendar. I thought GT was supposed to be a realistic game...
??????????????????????????????????????????????????
EDIT: Sorry I just found out that apparently Ferrari doesn't sell vehicles on a Monday /Sarcasm.
Hmmmm... well I own lots of games which recieved 6-ish scores, and I like them just fine. I think this is going to be a "Matter of Taste" title. They've probably still got my money when the price drops... after it falls on it's face due to all the blah-blah about it (like - let's face it - ALL PSP TITLES DO)... once piracy and other usual "behaviors" of the PSP user-base kick it in the shins and bugger it all up, it should drop to $20 by Christmas.
PD has definitely lost their way a bit though. I was expecting high 7's to a solid 8. :?
... oh, andI will NOT be buying a different title in it's place. Arcade racing does not provide a healthy surogate for those of us who like sim racing. Guess it's back to EA Sports' "NASCAR" (2006) for my racing fix. Not that I mind, but I was hoping for some road course-centered action this Fall... oh well... $40 I don't have to scrape together come October 1st I guess.
Oh my god oh my god oh my god, this is a bad omen man. I starting to worry about GT5. Crap, i'm starting to stress out actually, anyone got anything to help me calm down? I really feel lke i'm gonna lose it

Just... Stop. Ok?
If you really feel the need to poke fun at people who care about a title, you might find your "humor" works better on the Pokemon age range.

What? No, i was being serious dude. i wasn't making fun of anyone. I swear on my games collection i wasn't. I really am starting to stress because there is a Forza 3 vs GT5 war at my work at the moment, so if GT5 ends up failing, i'm dead. Also, i've been hanging out for GT5 since GT1.
Damn you Polyphony, you can't do this to me - I created you....and i can destroy you
I might have to cancel me pre- order on it, i do not care what the review says, but if really does not have career mode and the car tuning has been watered down, i am just going to rent it first. I played all Gran Turismo games, the best one in my opinion was GT2 for the PSone, the fact that it had full race modification for some car models was a feature not found in any of the other GT games. Hopefully it comes out as a download for the PSP on the PlayStation Network. EVILD0GSYep GT2 is my favorite as well, I spent so much time on that game. I was hoping this game would be somewhat like it, but not even close. They need to release 1 and 2 in the ps1 store.
Maybe I did a very strange thing. But I decided not to buy GT PSP. I've collected some more money and two days ago I bought PS2 and GT4 - great game as hell and with HUGE career mode! When I started to play I understood that GT PSP wasn't for me - thank God I didn't pre-ordered this.. Call me crazy but I'm just "old GT fan" :)
