I'm looking forward to this game and will be glad to get my UMD demo. I'm just wondering about the PSP not having the 2nd analog stick. I know this was used mostly for the dodging and stuff, so how would you do this on the PSP? Either way I can't wait for this. It looks pretty close to the PS2 version by the trailer.

Thanks

More of an issue is how you're going to go about doing special moves and using magic, which are on the L1 & L2 buttons respectively.  I'm going to be extremely interested in seeing how they pull it off.

maybe D-pad for dodging?slip_killer

Nah, that'd definitely be a little too difficult, plus the D-pad has traditionally been reserved for switching btw magic.

Same thing with using the wi-fi switch.

Hmm...maybe they'll do something to the effect of L+R triggers for magic, L trigger for special attacks, and R trigger for the traditional "action" button.  All that leaves is dodging at this point.

ok heres what i have come up with.

X=jump

Square= Light attack

triangle= heavy attack

O= to grab/action button

R=Holding down the button and any direction with the analog allows you to dodge.

Select=use magic attack

L=to block and also to do special attacks when held with an attack button

Up= Switch to next magic

Down=Switch to previous magic

Right=Switch to next weapon

Left=Switch to previous weapon

I think ive covered all the buttons, but if i didnt feel free to tell me what i missed so i can change up the controls :)

^You missed the wifi-switch...:|

Just kidding :lol:

I don't really care to guess how the layout gonna be like. I'll be leaving Ready To Dawn to think about them and if they did, i'm sure thats the best and most comfortable one. :)

I had a dream i was playing GOW on the PSP

 I don't think the controls really need to be changed that much. You never use both analog sticks at the same time, really.

analog nub: move

x: jump

square: light attack

triangle: heavy attack

circle: grab

L: combo modifier when used with face buttons, magic select when used with arrow buttons, dodge when used with analog nub

R:  use currently selected magic

L+R: change weapon

Pretty much what I had in mind. Depressing a shoulder button to roll. Pretty much like PS2 Ratchet where you depress the shoulder button to switch from regular movement to strafing. Also the R button will be used very often as an activate button to open chests, doors etc. Might be annoying when trying to open a health chest in the middle of a battle and end up rolling away from it but this is about the best control scheme I can think of. Perhaps different use for the D-Pad. Trying to think of a different button for magic cuz the PSP select button is garbage but umm can't think of anything right now.

i always fear that if its R+ L together that i might be clumsy enough to accidentally trigger it. I like select better cus you can still move around with your left thumb and have your right thumb ready on it to trigger the magic.

lol of course, cus they are the ones making the game. But i always like to figure out how buttons will be on a game before it comes out. Like when i thought Bf2 was ganna come out before it got canceled, i was always thinking of the button scheme for it. Ive realized that theres a heck of a lot of ways to put controls on it.
