Monster Hunter Freedom 2, Tales of Eternia, Tekken Dark Ressurection, Final Fantasy Tactics, Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness, GTA Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories, Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, God of War Chains of Olympus, Final Fantasy Crisis Core. Those are what come to mind at the moment.
socom ftb2 is a must have. its singleplayer is very fun, definitely better than most games, id say even better than halo 3 or cod 4. its multi is good too, but i got it yesterday, and apparently it was just days after a patch that "ruined" the online mode somehow. also theres a lot of cheaters and it takes awihile to go through the screens to get to actually playing. but its still very fun overall, and it can be bought for $20 at most places; i believe bestbuy sells it for $15.
and ridge racer. car physics are outta wack, but its simply a fun game. i dont think it has online though, but its still good and is cheap nowadays.
Burnout Legends, God of War (when it comes out), either one of the Syphon Filter games, Wipeout Pure, Final Fantasy Tactics, Castlevania Symphony of the Night ($10 on Playstation store). There really are quite a few good games to get for the thing, just keep your eyes open! And, if you're getting your PSP from Gamecrazy, just remember that they'll let you try any game you want.
If you haven't played them yet, I recommend Final Fantasy I and II. Also, Final Fantasy Tactics and most certainly Crisis Core.
I also recommend Daxter, Joan D'Arc, and Disgaea. Oh, and Tales of the World is fun if you don't expect a great story. Portable Tales combat is an ace.
Don't expect however, your PSP to be quite as portable as a DS Lite. It'll be a bit better than the old gameboy color in sunlit areas, but it still suffers from glare problems.
