Games you liked at first but now..meh?

One of the first games I played on my PS3 was the original Assassins Creed, which I really, really enjoyed at the time. But for one reason or another, I only got about three or four hours into it before getting sidetracked by something else.

Now, years later, I've picked it up again to finally finish it...but...I can barely play it for half an hour before putting down the controller out of boredom. I have a hard time figuring out what I ever saw in this game.

Have you had a similar experience with a game in your collection? Love it at first, come back to it later and dislike it?

Red Dead Redemption multiplayer. At first I thought it was kinda cool, but over time I just got frustrated and it became really boring with no story to keep you going.

redient evil 5 and GTA4 where like that for me.

I agree with Assasin's Creed. I was in to it for a little while but I quickly got bored.

Bioshock

I liked Assassin's Creed well enough, but AC2 made the first game absolutely unplayable by comparison. Same with Saints Row. First game was decent, but in hindsight it's crap, simply because of a vastly superior sequel.

infamous....i now think its the ps3's weakest exclusive.

As a lot of people have already said, MW2.

AC2 - about half way through it i got tired of it.

Little Big Planet - sometimes i find creating weird contraptions therapeutic but after a few levels i wondered whats the point! no one cares about your levels...they just want you to heart theirs so you will do it back.

I liked Deadspace and Bioshock when I bought them... but they seem like boring corridor shooters so I havent put much time into either. MethodManFTW

Because the game is so damn BIG. I just gave up. I spent more time walking, driving, and running than actually doing something. Bored me right out of the game.Shame since I was so looking forward to this when it first came out.

mw2 i use to love cod but im now bored of there arcadey approach. man i wanna go back to cod2 just me my gun and iron sight thats it.

I liked "BioShock" while I was in the store, and the walk home... but then I got it out of the case and tried playing it...

... to this day, the WORST money I've ever thrown away on a game, since 1977 when I started. "Pong" was more engaging, and 1000x more fulfilling than that piece of excrement. I'd rather have a colonoscopy with an outboard engine propeller.

Well, back them I bought the next gen consoles to play Assassin's Creed. I got so amazed at first. But I never managed to play it. It's just, meeh now..

I'll admit, I do miss the old-school shooters. As cool as it is to have all these options for weapon customization, killstreaks, emblems/tags, etc, sometimes I would just like to strip all that crap away and have it be me vs. whoever, not me vs. airstrike, sentry gun, chopper gunner, hearbeat sensor...etc.

call of duty series as a whole

Red Dead Redemption and Brutal Legend come to mind.

I was really into both at first, especially RDR, then I just stopped playing them. I just can't muster up any enthusiasm to play either one anymore. Can't really put my finger on why this happened, as I actually think both games are good, I just don't seem to want to play them.

GTA 4. I beat it but never touched it again after I did. Not even for the multiplayer. Game just left me unsatisfied for some reason.

And CoD2 was SO great... played that game right up until about a year ago!!! The last even-setting shooter of it's kind. Both teams had great guns and everyone was on an even playing surface from the start of the round... Quality. Days I spent in "Canyon" or "Cassino"... good times, GOOD TIMES.

I've got to say: I'm surprised how many people are mentioning RDR. I was way into that game until the very last mission.

However, I can see how it might have gotten kind of old while your constantly doing missions just to find your old gang 'buddy', meanwhile all the mission givers are totally using you just to achieve their own ends. That did get a bit annoying after a while, but I still thought the gameplay was very fun and engaging.

I guess it's not everyone's cup of tea though.

LBP, Its just boring by yourself and online can be a pain cause of load times and poorly made levels. Its just 100 times funner with other people right there with you.

I don't know, LBP has its ups and downs that is why I am hoping LBP 2 is WAY better! which it will be! :D

I already pre-ordered the Collector's Edition. I played it at Comic-Con and its gonna be awesome.

Red Dead Redemption, Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3.

Uncharted 2 i beat the story then a month or two later went back to play through it again and just stopped barely 20 minutes in, i was so bored.

GTA4, went back when the dlc was released and thought it was horrible, prolly since i was use to smoothness of u2 aiming.

Wow. What's with all the RDR comments about? I finished the story and I still play it cuz theres so many other missions to do.. (stranger missions)

But in a way.. yeah, it's kinda meh for me but that's what we think of games that we finish right? :D
