For all those that haven't played KillZone

I am expecting my ps4 with killzone to arrive in a couple of days but i haven't played killzone before, although I've heard it has a very good story so i would like to ask if anyone knows a site or blog which explains the story of killzone well,getting in all the details that are important etc...im planning on playing the other games as well but as im kept quite busy i can only play the last of the series for now and i would like to know whats going on in the game with the different factions and wars going on.Thanks advance

I don't understand why you're directing your post towards those that "haven't played killzone"....

But, since I have, I can tell you that the storyline isn't really that good. I'm sure there are blogs out there describing in detail what the game's about if you really need to know that. The story itself has no impact on the game, however. Your primary objective is still to kill the bad guys without dying.

Wikipedia should give you a decent summary... I've played 1-3 and honestly can't tell you much that I remember from the story. I have a decent idea of the main conflict and everything, but the story isn't that interesting in my opinion.

killzone is gun porn ,the story is not well thought out or engaging

dont just use the regular wikipedia article on the killzone series. use the killzone wiki site and go to the timeline there. its very in depth all the way back to humans leaving earth to begin colonizing planets and it goes all the way to the events of shadow fall. its exactly what youre looking for

Pretty graphic was the only reason why i finished the game, however i quite enjoyed the multiplayer

Hopefully you enjoy the new one more than me, i just couldn't get into it, for me it was just a little bit all over the place i wasn't ever sure what i was ment to be doing, just left me to go on without giving me much of a direction but that was just me

Im in love with the Multiplayer. Such a fun game. The graphics are beautiful, the story was meh

long story short:

helghast attacked vekta, vekta counter attacked, vekta wiped helghast out, literally and really... now remaining helghans live on vekta as a token of vektans' remorse, shodawfall started with the beginning of this sentence... :)

The only killzone I have played is killzone 2.

Killzone has some pretty good lore to it.

I personally love Killzone 2 the most...but all of them I have enjoyed. It's actually the only fps series that has held my interest.

Be warned however, the gameplay mechanics of Killzone games are not like cod, or halo.

There's a lot more weight, recoil, and muzzle flash with the weapons. Some have said it makes the game too sluggish, but for Killzone vets, we love the feel. It's not twitchy, and shoot each round is so satisfying.

The Helghast ai, are also very smart, relentless, and don't die with only a couple of bullets.

These guys are tough.

@xboxdone74: thank god their is a sense of weight and recoil in killzone games. Otherwise, it would be another cod with no weight or recoil.

I love the recoil on the weapons imo.

I found the story so bad that I couldn't slog my way through the campaign. It's very pretty and runs smooth as glass, but... It's a turd. Which is pretty bad for a new console's showcase title. Of course, it must be the trend, as Ryse (Xbox One's showcase title) is also a pretty, smooth as glass, turd...

Edit: (Multiplayer may be a whole different story, but I tend to prefer single player experiences, so couldn't comment on that...)

I'm getting bored with the story, it looks and feels great, but it is just bland. Right now I'm about half way through and basically only playing it to finish it. Multiplayer however is a blast. It is fast paced and well worth it.

Single player seems like it was rushed and has some errors that are unbecoming of Killzone. For example you can't drop you main weapon, even if its empty, but ammo can be tough to find for that gun. Also I don't like that you can't save levels mid level, you must complete them or restart them from the opening of the chapter.

Story is kinda ok, Gameplay and graphics/visual design is very good.
