Eh, not really. If I need the extra memory down the road I can just upgrade it. I dont really keep too much on it though because I dont see the point of storing music and photos on there when I have a laptop that does the exact same thing. Once they implement custom soundtracks I might think about uploading SOME music to my PS3, but not a whole lot. My PS3 is mainly just a gaming system for now. My MacBook is my media center so I really don't see what the point is in having the same stuff taking up space on two different machines.
Overall, not a big deal. It's good for people that haven't bought a PS3 yet though!
Eh, I kind of do... I got my PS3 about a week and a half ago because I heard that Sony CONFIRMED there weren't going to be price cuts... =[
But, I guess I really don't need 80GB... But it just feels better.

If you bought it a week and half ago, you can still return it to the store.
I have a 60GB, so it doesn't bother me either way. However it's worth pointing out that what Sony is releasing is basically just the 40GB PS3 with more hard drive space. It won't have the card slots, extra USB ports, or, most importantly, the PS2 BC of the current 80GB model.
[QUOTE="ILOVETHEENOT"]well it's the same as the 40 just with 40 extra gigs.NSR34GTR
so its not the same
The basic hardware will be the same. It's just the "bundle" that is different. (eg. the hard drive is a user replaceable part)
I felt screwed over when I bought a 60gb for $599 and then a week later they lowered it to $499.anewperfectday
:| there's alot of people that envy you my Ps3 buddy... just be glad your one of the luck one.
Of course because I just got my PS3 and if I had waited then I could have gotten more for my money. But I play my PS3 so much so those couple of months I would have waited would have felt like an eternity.
It would have really sucked if it had been the 80 gig with the 4 USB slots, bc and those card slots. But since it's not, I don't feel that screwed over. Would have saved me from buying the external hardrive that I'm eventually going to have to buy but not a big loss.
