first RPG to play

I am looking for a RPG game to play and actually beat, I have played all FF games and at some point I stopped playing for some reason, I am looking to actually play all the way through and not sure which one to start at, any advice would gladly be appreciated.

Try Dragon Age. I'm playing it now (when I'm not playing Uncharted and Uncharted 2)

It's a SRPG, but a good one. You should try out Valkyria Chronicles.

Tales of Vesperia would be a good start followed byValkyria Chronicles which is a great strategy RPG

Tales of the Abyss, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Legend of Legaia, Persona 3 & Persona 4. Those are a few that I would try if I were you.

FF1 is definitely the shortest (to th man wanting to know about FF's above) i vaguely recall spending about 2 days straight to run through and beat it, so 16-20 hours-ish? most other FF's you can beat in 3-4 days with some consistent playing

I don't get it- youre looking for someone to tell you which FF game to play, even though youve played them all? Why not the one you liked most? Or maybe you just dont like FF games that much (nothing to be ashamed of)....

to be honest, I kindof like the idea of the FF series more than Ive enjoyed a majority of the games, so Ive left a few unfinished too......

There aren't any FF games on PS3, unless you count the PSOne dowlnoads of FF Tactics, FF7 and FF8. They're all great games and well worth your time and money, but aren't groundbreaking or new by today's standards.

for FF, I'd advise FF7 and FF9 (not yet on PSN), others Suikoden 1 and 2 on PSN (3 and 5 are nice too but PS2), Enchanted arms is not that bad, lots of strategy with the different layouts of attacks and many golems to collect
