Final Fantasy IX (No Spoilers Please)

I just bought Final Fantasy IX for PS1, because I can play PS1 games on my PS3. I have never played a Final Fantasy game, will I be deeply confused, are there any things I should know before playing it? and please no spoilers.

All you need to know is that it is a great game.:D

i have just completed it yet again about the 4 run through now

its got to rank in my top 3 games of all times

completed it yesterday took me 36hrs to complete with 3 lv 76 characters. Cloud,tifa and barret

Yeah, like someone else said, use STEAL alot, Im pretty sure every boss has more than one item to steal and they are almost always good.

Also use Vivi alot, hes a great character and he can do more damage than anyone else (later in the game).
