At the moment PS3, I mean its the first time that I own a next gen console (PS4) but continue to play the hell out of last gen (PS3).
I know most playstation fans like the ps2 best but for me its the playstation 1. for some reason I never cared that ps2. one reason is prob do to the final fantasy games. the ff games on the ps1 were fantastic imo, 7 8 and 9. loved them, then I got ff10 on the ps2, my first ps2 game iirc and other than the graphics and the mini sports game I thought it was pretty awful. felt nothing like a ff game to me, hated the story, hated most of the characters ect ect, that alone prob tainted my impression of the system from then on. of course I played some good games on the system as well. metal gear solid 2 was cool but again other than the graphics and a couple game play elements I thought it was just not as good as mgs1 on the ps1. the ps1 had some of my fav games on any console, games like wingcommander 3 and 4 "I know they have not aged well". and the colony wars games"ps4 sequal please", and games like the first to crash bandacote games, legacy of cain 1 and 2, ect ect. The ps1 just had a lot of games I remember fondly. it was also iirc the first system I bought on day 1 as I became a "enthusiast" gamer about half way through the 16 bit days, though iv been gameing sense before the nes. The ps2 and most of its games just didn't do it for me.
it prob does not help my impression of the system that I started getting in to PC gameing about 6 months after getting the ps2. not that im saying PC gameing is better, just that it was new to me and I was hyped for the whole hardwear upgradeing side of the hobby as well as the def in game types, simulator type games ect that are not really made for consoles, at least not often. in fact my ps2 broke about 2 1/2 years after getting it and I did not bother getting it fixed or replaced though I played new games over at friends houses. Any way the ps1 is my fav of the sony systems and maybe number 2 or 3 in my all time fav consoles list. snes is and prob always will be my number 1. id say at this point the ps3 is my 2nd fav sony console.Im just hopeing the ps4 will knock the ps1 from its top spot on my list :)
PS2 followed by PS4, and then the PSP. Never owned the PS3. The PS2 was great because it also had the backwards compatibility. So, I could still play all my games from PS1. Although, the whole memory card bit was a pain with both systems. Thank God for internal memory now.
Personally:
PS1 has the nostalgia
PS2 has the biggest library
PS3 has the most time spent on it
I actually have no idea.
It was PS2 for a long time but I think the PS3 surpassed the PS2 especially the past 2 years of released games. The PS2 has the larger library but I think the PS3 has the larger library of GREATER GAMES. Also, lot of ps2 games are really dated by today's standard. Some of the great PS2 games that I loved back in the day aren't as enjoyable because the graphics are so bad. I can't even consider the PS1 because the graphics are unbearable.

Lara Croft's polygonal boobs on the PS1 not doing it for you anymore? lol
With each generation i've had fond memories. The origional playstation was the first console i ever had and i remember countless hours playing it. The PS2 again the same, but i think it is with the PS3 i have had the most memories and the most excitement about getting. Playing Uncharted, Oblivion and MGS4 on that.... No words.
Honestly, the one I got the most mileage out of has been the PS3 by far. I barely ever used my PS2 outside of DMC and Dragon Quest VIII...
i've owned every playstation console (ps1, ps2, ps3, ps4, psp, and ps vita) and currently own the ps3, ps4, and ps vita. some might consider me a playstation fanboy (which i won't deny because i've played the xbox consoles and don't like them. i prefer the playstation consoles). feature wise, i love the ps4. game wise (until dragon age inquisition, elder scrolls online, the division, destiny, and everquest next release for the ps4), the ps2. but the ps3 did have some great exclusives such as the last of us and beyond two souls.
PlayStation 3 is my favorite because it can do the most things and has great games. I am watching Netflix via app for it. The Playstation 2 is second best and the PSX is my least favorite PlayStation home console, but that does not mean either of them are bad consoles. The Japanese did a terrific job with them. As such, I anticipate a good experience with the PlayStation 4 when I finally acquire one.
Playstation 1 by far followed by PS3, then PS2. I pretty much skipped the PS2 due to me getting my first PC 4 months after getting a PS2. Once I got the PC, my PS2 collected dust for the rest of the gen (got the PS2 6 months after launch) except for when one of my kids would decide to play it and neither was really into gaming back then.
Hands down the ps2. It has the largest, and most diverse library while also offering backwards comparability which adds thousands of more titles to the systems library. Yeah the graphics are out of date but it still holds tons of games with plots that stand up with the likes of Uncharted and The Last Of Us
PS2. PS3 became awesome after PSplus and is catching up somewhat, but PS2 is legendary. PSX wan't a slouch with some FF titles, MGS and Twisted Metal. PS3 had a drought for a while, but at the end it really surprised me. It was mainly just a blu-ray player to me, but in the last two years it became one of my main game consoles.
