I played both. Didn't like either. Try out DS and FF13.

DS is for the patient and slow RPGers. It doesn't matter if you didn't play any other FF before, but FF13 is a BRILLANT RPG (best on the PS3 thus far IMO) so get that. I've played for nearly 100 hours and not yet done everything is there to do.

I loved DA 1 and its a very good WRPG with great character's and story.

Demon's Soul isn't a hard as everyone makes out..you just need to be patient with the game.

You don't need to play the other FF game to play or understand FF13, but I suggest skipping it as its not a great JRPG or FF game, and try some of the older FF games first like FF7, 8 or 9 off the PSN store or FF10 on PS2.

or if you love your JRPG's and havn't played Persona 3 and 4 yet, go buy them NOW!

I just started playing Oblivion for the first time today too, and so far I'm just finding it so-so. I agree with you that it seems somewhat outdated. It reminds me of older PC games. I'm willing to give it more of a chance, though. Some RPG's take time to grow on you and since the ratings for this game are good, I'm assuming it gets better further into the game.

I played Oblivion back in 2005/2006 when it first came out, and I loved it. The depth, immersion, storyline, and characters were all great. I remember thinking that it was a great looking game at the time. I have since played Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, which both use the same engine Oblivion did, and while they aren't the most visually impressive games out there, they still don't look bad. I would go with Oblivion.

I'd say Dragon Age, Oblivion is just a sword-swinging hack and slash.... Dragon Age actually has some challenge to it that can be conquered to produce enjoyment.

It's a sloopy battle system though. FF13 has a superb and slick battle system. Get it instead.

Well I can see how it would be tough to get into a Bethesda game after playing a BioWare game. The latter is all about story, interacting with people and tactics heavy combat; while Bethesda games, the main plot isn't really important, its more about exploration and side missions.

Dragon age is very linear, a great game no doubt, but if u like to explore and not ever rly be told what to do Oblivion is fantastic game with interesting quests.

Oblivion is just better at letting u play it the way u want, not only that but a new one is being made so now is a good time to get caught up on whats goin on in the story

If you love an open world with tons and I mean TONS of exploration and not having to worry about leveling up or anything I would go with Oblivion. Such a great game for sure.

DS isn't that hard.. After dying about 50 times you get use to it :P. But tbh once you start learning how to play (shouldn't take more than 5-6 deaths on teh first level) its not as hard. Oblivion is boring after 15 hours for me. DAO was great for the story but combat is horrible. You should try DS or Final Fantasy 13. I really enjoy FF13 story and combat system

I've barely touched Oblivion, but I'm really liking Dragon Age.

DAO is my choice.
Only thing that gets me angry about that game is the Traveller torphy. They made that one too hard to get. On my 4th playthrough, still don't have it and don't know if I'll get it at the end. :(

And hooking up with Lilianna and Alistair(spelling?) is too difficult. Seems buggy in that department.

I'd recommend Dragon Age Origins. Oblivion's nice but it plays too much like Fallout 3 for me.

Dragon Age. Obivilon was ok compared to DA-orgins. But ive been playing demon souls right now...i like the gameplay more, but im not that far yet to really say it is better then dragon age...
