Does PS2 Guitar Hero Work With PS3?

Does the PS2 Guitar work with the PS3 without having to get an adapter? I was just looking at getting Guitar Hero 3 PS2 version and then use it on my PS3 since a lot of my friends have it for the PS2.

the GAME Works but the guitar does not you get an adapter all the ones out there DO NOT WORK they cause lag and some buttons dont work etcCrazy87

I got a question: where do i get another ps3 GH3 guitar? im planning on buying GH3 but i require another guitar to play with my friend(s). Any clue where i can buy another one without getting a friend to buy the game too.
