Just curious, I have bought and sold 3 PSP's and want one again. I plan on getting one next week and never selling it. I have also always liked the UMD movies and have realized that Sony is still putting ot new ones here ad there. Gamestop also has them for 5 bucks each. I have already bought 3 and plan on getting more. Am i alone or do others still buy em? Also, do not complain about the prices anymore, there all really cheap now, even the new ones that are still coming out. I bought hancock for 12 bucks.

No to me it's a waste of money because you can get them for free by just buying the DVD or even renting the DVD. I guess you need lot's of memory stick's if you have alot of movies but is still cheaper than UMD movies.

Nah I think its a waste of money when I can buy it for my dvd player and just convert it if I want to watch it on the go.

I hadn't purchased a single UMD movie...until my local Gamestop was selling them for 2.99 a pop. I picked up Kung Fu Hustle, FF The Spirits Within, and The Terminator for just a bit over $10.

Do they still produce UMD movies? I only ever bought one. Pirates of the caribbean. I thought the UMD format was a neat idea. Especially since you can hook up slim and 3000 models to tvs. The only problem was that UMDs were so expensive. About as much as a DVD. and at the time of the UMD's prime there was just the old PSP that could not hook up to any sort of tv. So you could only watch these movies on your PSP. If UMDs started being released again and for some between seven and ten dollars then I'd buy em.

well glad to see im not the only one supporting the format. Also, with PSP 2 rumors floating around I heard that the next psp might not have a UMD drive, If that is true then that would make me a bit angry. I always want backwards compatibility.

Once in awhile when there's a good movie that's cheap. Usually, not movies but I like things like Resident Evil Degeneration or Advent Children since they're gaming related and look like a game with all cut-scenes.

I don't know anyone who bought any...

I have actually wondered whether they ever sold any of them...

They can't have made much money out of it.

I generally don't buy DVD's nor UMD's because I only watch them once, so renting's the way!

I just bought the Resident Evil CG movie about a month ago. I don't buy any kind of movies very often, only have about 30 DVDs and 5 UMDs. If they were to make concert UMDs, I would buy a ton of them. They are much better suiter for portable viewing than a film.

They use to make UMDs simillar ot that, They had a Green Day one that was awhole bunch or thier songs (or the whole American Idiot album) that were live performances. It was liek a concert in that sense. I think they made 2 or 3 more like this and then stopped making them.....

I meant concerts by good bands.:P

I saw a couple concert UMDs were available, but there weren't any from bands that I listen to.

I've only watched National Treasure and Family guy on UMD. And that's because they were in the bundles... They play WAY too quietly for me to actually be able to hear them, so I've never considered buying one.

just convert it to an mp4 (lower resolutions still look good on the psp and save memory stick space) and stick it in a folder titled VIDEO

Yeah, movie volume is a problem for me. I have to either use headphones, or be in an extremely quiet area.

Hope to start a collection some time. Just picked up Amityville Horror, Ronin and FF:Spirits Within for 4 bucks a pop today.

The prices UMDs are now, its a total steal. Especially with the video out cables. Like having a portable DVD player in your pocket..

just got 2 Chappelle seasons and one of family guy for less than 10 bucks so yes, right now its easy to buy one 'cause they are pretty cheap.. Not planning on gettin' a lot though, I use the psp for playing mostly. The movies are just to have an option on a trip or something..
