Today I read around 5 to 6 hands on previews, all them are saying that the game is epic, huge and phenomenal. But do you guys think after all this anticipation and hype will it be justified? Games like Heavenly Sword, Lair, Halo 3 either have been overhyped or failed in wat was expected of them.

Heavenly Sword and Lair had nowhere NEAR the hype of MGS4 or Halo 3. Halo 3 of course had a ton of hype because the 360 was begging for a big game after GeoW. It ended up being well received by reviewers, despite some problems. I'm not sure Halo 3 really failed, because it did what it was supposed to do...just too bad that was basically mimic the previous games.
At the moment, I see no reason to believe that MGS4 will be anything less than phenomenal. Too much effort and feeling is being put into the game, along with an enormous budget and all being helmed by one of the better storytellers in video games today. The ONLY way the game will fail is if there is some major bug that prevents the game from being played. Considering all the testing, I see MGS4 being one of the only games in a long time to approach the level of "perfection." I'm not saying it will be perfect, because no game has ever reached that level, but I do think it could get some perfect scores and I'm sure it will satisfy the millions of fans.
I do believe this particular game WILL live up to the hype. All the other installments have been EXCELLENT and now that the series is taking the next step to the PS3 I think Hideo Kojima and his team will not let us down.
I feel that the guys at Kojima Productions has done a good job of making us all expect a certain standard from MGS4. With all the trailers and the videos, we all have this image of what it will be like and everyone is getting very excited about it and hyping it up. I think there are so many things that The development studio hasn't shown that will really make us like the game. All we've seen so far is the middle east level. I think this game will be epic, just because of the amount of stuff we don't know about the game.
well if that IGN preview is anything to go by. The guy seemed pretty blown away by the game. I think the hardcore MGS fans will be happy. as for every buddy else? who knows.
If there is one person who delivered in past with outstanding gameplay, story and graphics in the game - that would be Mr. Kojima.
Enormous amount of effort had been put into this game. This is one title where no review or opinion will be able to make decision for me. First day release day purchase for me. Hype, no hype, it doesn't matter. This is final chapter of Snake, and there is no power in world that will convince me of not playing with him one last time.
If any game on the market deserves my respect as great franchise, that would be Metal Gear story.
I have more faith on that than every other hyped game for the next 10 years. KZ2 may flop, Resistance 2 may flop, Haze WILL flop, GT5 may flop(not really), but not MGS4. The game will be epic. And I will lose myself into its awesomeness.
Old Snake will rock the house big time. This game will be AWESOME. The hype by the media pales in comparison to the hype i've built inside myself. When MGS4 is released, I will become Solid Snake, and when he dies, part of me will die with him.
it will without doubt deliver imo, and im pretty sure it will turn out to be the best game ever imo, with mgs1,2 and 3 following behind:) But ofc some fanboys will claim that the game sucks and was overhyped, but why should I care about that? I'll be playing the best game ever made imo, and so should all of you:)
We'll everyone whos played it has said its justified...IGN for example, someone there beat it, and basically said its amazing and yes was justified, i have not personally played it but i know Hideo Kojima hasn't let me down the slightest bit with MGS so i have no reason to doubt now
i think casual gamers who buy the game thinking it will be a COD4/GeOW type non stop action game will be REALLY disappointed with the extremely long cut scenes and complexity to gameplay. Fans of the game will obviously be in heaven
MGS is one of the best game series, and MGS4 looks to be the best of the games. Therefore, it should be one of the best games ever made.
I'm sure it won't be perfect, but MGS has always had amazing gameplay and overly long and ridiculous cutscenes and story. I'll enjoy every minute of it.
