I've wasted so much money on games that's my biggest regret, and the main reason I bought it was because I wanted to play Final Fantasy Versus XIII and it looks like that wont even come out till 2011/12 so that's a couple of years i'm gunna feel the need to buy more games for. I'm considering selling my PS3 and current games and buying a PS3 again when FFvXIII comes out because i'm not gunna be able to stop buying hundred dollar games which i'll play for a few weeks and get bored with.

no regrets whatsoever.

I was a nintendo-fan until the wii (damn you wii, you had so much potential, why did F up so bad?),

after realising wii is not the console for mii, I bought a ps3 and it was one of the best decisions I made so far.

I did when I got the stage when I had very little money spare for food. I'm just glad I got a grant from my univesrity which saw me through to the end of that particular term. I don't know because if I didn't have it I'd have very little to do during my own downtime after hanging with friends or coming home from work.

No one ever said you had to just own a PS3. I know systems cost a bit of money, but no one is stopping you from buying other sets. The only thing is that there isn't much reason to own the others from the looks of right now. Gears of War and Tales of Vesperia are cool as well as punch and zack and wiki, but there isn't a huge amount of quality games that either of the others have a lot of that the PS3 doesn't.

Regret is a strong word. There are periods where I tend to get blase about gaming. When, I might want to be focusing my time on more fulfilling interests/activities. Maybe learn a new skill or read up on some esoteric subject etc. Or, develop my art and photography skills, and the original story idea that's been in my head for near a decade. :)

BUT THEN, I also feel really grateful to have an entertainment system of this calibre to fall back on. When you just want to have some downtime; away from the grind and everyone else you know? Perhaps, when friends let you down, or life's a pain. On a more positive note, I find that it helps my creative muse a lot.

There was a time when I was fine with owning a PS2 and XBox. Since I bought my PS3 back in April, I haven't regretted buying it.

No regrets at all because I don't use the PS3 for games only. I enjoy playing movies or when out taking pictures with friends or family it's nice to come home and just pop the memory card from the camara into the memory slote and viewing the pictures taken during the time.

Not at all. I learned to control my gaming habits a long time ago so it has no effect on my social life or academics at all. I don't even feel like I wasted money.

Sometimes I feel like instead of buying a PS3, I could have just got a lifetime supply of PS2 games, and a bunch of DVD's as well. That's just because I'm broke after spending all my money on the PS3, and I've only got 1 game for it. In a few months when I've got more games and some Blu-ray movies, I think I'll appreciate it more :D

I rarely play it so I don't mind. What I DO regret however is getting a japanese PS3. What the HELL?! How would I know PSX games are region locked?! Why does the world have to be so picky at a free-region, exchange of cultural time like this?!

I don't regret it at all. If you let something like video games destroy the things you mentioned, then the problem isn't video games - it's you. I'd just stay away from alcohol if I was you.

  2. Gets in the way of important revison exam preparation
  3. It eats a lot of money

I wonder what my life would be like if I didn't own a PS3. :?

WTF? Your not supposed to give up your life for your PS3. Its supposed to be something you do on your free time as a hobby. Ok maybe we all spend more time than we are supposed to, but atleast some of us know how to balance it out and still get hours of play time and still get to do our social activities.

Absolutely NOT! i love my PS3 system and no matter how many time someone says i should have gotten a 360, i never regret buying the PS3. I, at one point had to reset the system to make the controller work normally other than that, my amazing game system works a beauty. but the games, yea pretty expensive... THATS WHY WE HAVE USED GAMES AND RENTALS!!! lol..

I say you do need discipline to play games or it can control your life. If you can't control how much you play then you shouldn't play. I don't regret buying one at all. I used to be nocturnal because of my games but now I have it fixed. I go out with friends, have fun with my family, talk to my girlfriend. You just need to balance everything. P.S. A girlfriend who likes games, is an easier one to keep if you are a huge gamer.

I regret having a life. I want more time for my PS3.RedruM_I

LMAO... This ^^

but seriously, I don't regret it at all. I love my PS3 even though I don't have too much time to play it. You need to have the discipline to balance everything out. Friends are also fun and the GF wouldn't be too pleased if all I did was sit around playing PS3 all day, every day. O.o

Although sometimes, you just need a day like that after you take care of whatever else needs to be done.
