to tell the truth i used to like them....but my opinion on them changed when they bought out the NFL liscence... however i cant say i completely hate them because i know im gonna end up getting madden 09 lol.....i cant play APF 2K8 forever lol.
EA can be good an bad, depending on the game. They really disappointed me with the port of the orange box. I never saw the framerate or loading issues people talk about, but the fact that team fortress 2 never saw and update or anything (with the exception of one update) really disappointed me.
However, they've made good games in the past, so I can't say I hate them.
I voted for some good, some bad. If you ask me, a studio/publisher that puts out that many titles a year will have a couple sour apples. I do think that they have more good than bad however, so yes I am a fan of EA. I've always been a fan of the NFS series, regardless of the direction they choose (yes I did thoroughly enjoy ProStreet and have been a NFS fan back to HP2 and haven't missed one in between).
I also have always been a NCAA/Madden fan since I'm a football junkie who currently plays college ball.
I will say that they've had a shaky entrance into the PS3 era, but it seems that they are catching on across the board with NCAA looking better (IGN even said the PS3 version would be the display version this year) and the rest of the games following suit.
Just my two cents though.
I like EA .. even though I agree some of the last few titles .. especially Madden's have been a little lackluster .. I do believe they give us solid products .. lately though they have been up and down.
But NCAA looks awesome .. and Madden is shaping up and will hopefully deliver, without a Franchise killing glitch .. but you have to look at NHL 08, best sports game ever .. they have it in them.
[QUOTE="RandomBeast"]They just seem to recycle old ideas with a few new features. For this, I've got to say EA sucks!trapper94EA sucks??? Crysis? Orange Box? Burnout? Half-life 2? Battlefeids they have started some legends that are not dying any time soon!
Dude, don't take me too seriously. I'm random.
Oh, and I was pretty much talking about EA Sports, although most of what you named were shooters...

Well that's true.I can honestly say i hate EA ive probibly played over a 1000 games of nhl08 but sometimes the glitches in it drive me absolutly insane.
I am not a big fan of sports games. So, EA lost me there.
Not a fan of shooters either. EA lost me there.
Even though not really liked by most people, I really liked Need For Speed: Underground Rivals for the PSP and give EA some props for that game.
So I voted some good games and some bad games.

Well i dont think every game they release is garbage. That would be very stubborn and close minded of me to believe that. However, i do think that they produce alot more games that are absolute crap than ones that are worth at least five minutes of my time. I also feel that if they didnt sell as much of the crap they produce, there would be far less of it.
The thing with people is that people tends to remember bad games.
EA is probably the publisher that produces the most number of games each year, including fifa, nba live, burnout, battlefield and a lot more.
i like EA, i like their nba live08 and fifa08, they were very well done games, sure they do have some average games like nfs and medal of honor, but i felt that overall, they're a great company. if you hate EA, why not try not to buy any EA games from now onwards? I don't let myself misjudge a company just because 1 or 2 titles by them was bad.
I hate EA and everything they (and now Activision) stand for. I am proud to say I only own one EA game and that is EA Hockey which I bought for my Mega Drive back in 1991. I did also own James Pond and James Pond II on the MD but sold them both back then. I hate Western games in general but I will never buy a EA game as long as I live.
EDIT* I forgot I have two games with the Electronic Arts name on them for my Saturn but they don't count as they are Japanese. I have no clue why they were published by Electronic Arts Japan.
I do not dislike them or like them, there just a publisher in the gaming world to me, just like i have no feelings one way or another towards the console makers.
IMO EA have really been stepping it up over the last 1-2 years, they are bringing out new ip's like crysis, dead space, skate, spore, mirrors edge among others thats allot more than activision.
Yeah sure they bring out there sports games every year because it makes sense, a new season starts every year and i personally want a new fifa after the season has started.
Sure they put out lots of crap just like other big publishers but that doesnt bother me i take no notice of the crap.
I basicly think allot people just hate on EA because its the fashionable thing to do but IMO activision are just as bad if not worse than EA at this moment in time at milking franchises etc.
Allot of people say "i will never buy an ea product" well thats up to you but at some stage that nonsense will make you miss out on some good games, also i bet early every game has bought an ea game at one time or another.
Like i said i have no feelings at all towards ea or other companies and personally i dont understand some gamers attitudes, you would think the head of EA came and robbed there grandma then eat there family dog as they way they act is how one would act to someone they really hated.
