It's monthly but it's cheaper the more time you purchase at once. I just got 3 months for $25 but come September I'll be renewing for a year so I don't have to think about it again for a while lol

Looked like the sale was over when I posted that. And I want to say only 1 Year subscriptions were discounted.
At any rate you can almost always find Membership codes for a bit cheaper some place like eBay. I haven't spent full price on my membership in years.
