I have played Devil May Cry and some of Devil May Cry 2 but after that i sort of lost track of the franchise. Is DMC4 worth picking up or is it best to just wait for the newest game to come out? I did enjoy the first game if that helps in your decision.

Rather than getting hammered with different opinions ask yourself this:

1. Am I a fan of the series?

2. Is this the kind of game I like to play?

3. Will I be more upset that I listened to someone else & bought this & didn't like it?

4. Hmmm....did I do some research on this game before I considered buying it?

5. Should I be spending or not spending MY OWN money based on someone else's opinions on the game or not?

At the end of the day....just do some research & figure it out yourself because anyone can tell you a game is great or a game is lame.

If you liked the 2 first games you should definitely buy 3 and 4.

Just found that I can get it for under £10 so may have to invest in this game.

It's a good game but has some flaws, most noticeably, the backtracking. The first half of the game is going from point A to point B, and the second half is going from point B to point A. You fight the same enemies and bosses in the same environments two - three times. At least you get to play as a different character while backtracking.

The only good thing about the 2nd game was the track that played when you fight the Oranguerra. That track rocked HARD.

Your Best off with DMC 3 as DMC 4 story-wise raises more questions yet answers nothing. The rest are just nick-picks of mine from being a fan but let's not compare this with Bayonetta as her move list consists of nothing but a lame dodge and moves with no weight or recoil. When you strike in DMC you feel it, an important tiny detail that benefits heavy for action games which they nailed to perfection in Vanquish. Every shot was just so satisfying.
