ive been playing demons souls for about 2 hours and am still at the very beginning, are there no save points until the end of the levels, because I've probably gotten 20 minutes in on my farthest try and can't find a save point.

The game saves automatically every time you move/attack/use item/etc. If you get halfway through a level and turn the game off, you will pick up exactly where you left off once you play it again. The enemies you kill will still be dead.

here are archstones after you beat each demon which you can spawn at after you unlock, more than likely your in the bolatarian palace so once you beat Phalanx you should get your first archstone

You have to beat the world boss before you can progress. The level MUST be beaten and no dying is allowed.

My first play through in the beginning was 2 weeks to figure out that you can not just be a hack and slash and that you have to move with strategy. I also found that a lot of farming works too. You can earn approx 2300 souls for each lap of the castle. Good Luck!

another quick tip on the red eyed knight in 1-1

You can clear the level up to that point, and down the tower that is opposite the red eye side. You can then make him chase you to those stairs and get opposite from the two barrels that sit there. He'll most likely fall as he tries to get around the barrels which gives you an easy kill, and 2000 souls( i think thats what it is called?

No reason to fight the red-eyed knight yet, especially if you haven't beaten the first level, because you won't be able to do anything with his souls anyway.
