I want to connect my regular headphones to my ps3(no mic). Should I just plug the cable straight away into my TV or there is a way to connect it somewhere at the ps3? If so, are there any differences??

The easiest thing to do is just plug them into your TV. If you want to run them straight from your PS3 you'll have to route audio through the multi-out and pick up an RCA adapter and stereo coupler to make the connection.

I use a wireless headphone a lot at night and the TV connection works great. Just use the headphone plug on your TV and enjoy the games. I can actually hear things with the headphones that I never hear from my TV or sometimes my sound system.

I was thinking of that too, but I see videos at youtube and everybody show connecting headphones to the ps3 and not at the TV. Why to connect it to the ps3 while it needs extra adapters and cables whereas it's much simpler to connect it to your TV?

People using larger monitors many times don't have speakers, thereby requiring them to come up with some alternative for audio. The multi-out with adapters is by far the cheapest in that case.
