Can Dante turn Into his D.T. form without a devil arm?

When he unlocked rebellion's true power he unlocked his devil form, and in dmc1 he couldn't D.T. untill he got alastor, so maybe he can't turn into "super Dante" unless he has a devil arm? Discuss.

Yeah I figured that a while ago. I'm assuming the power of whatever entity is within the weapon he is wielding is what allows him to take a particular devil form. My favorite aspect of DMC3 was that whichever weapon he was wielding while in DT form actually made his DT look a little different, and of course, allowed for different abilities.
