This will fail unless someone pumps some serious money into the production...which of course they wonti really really wish people would stop making games into films every time they do they suck.
what happened to people writing original scripts and storys for films, film makers are getting lazy and uninspired and are falling on the game industry for ideas, and if its not a game there ripping off its some superhero from a comic.

Exactly. The game was awesome no doubt, but its not like they are going to take time with the movie and make it look like the game or flow like the game. It will probably be spit out fast and look like crap and will suck.i really really wish people would stop making games into films every time they do they suck.

The "best" video game movie is probably Silent Hill and it still sucked and its one of my favorite game series :(
Director from Pirates of the Caribbean. Could be a good movie. There's a lot of announcements of games being made into movies lately, so we will see which ones flop, if not all of them. Im really anticipating inFamous though. Prince of Persia doesnt look bad. The pictures look fine.
The director of PoTC got dropped months ago its now in talks with Juan Carlos Fresnadillo who directed 28 Weeks Later.Director from Pirates of the Caribbean. Could be a good movie. Here's an idea. The movie should be from a Splicers or Andrew Reynolds PoV and Jack be the "Villain". There; Make it happen. Or since you know what happens make the Big Daddy the "Villain".
The material is all there to make a movie of bioshock. I just hope they simply bring the game into a movie, instead of having some dumb side-story.

You mean a continuation? I'd rather not see the same content of the game packed into a 2 hour long film; that's an immediate failure.
Sorry I'm a diehard Devils fan...how can you be a Canucks fan and have a Parise banner?Director from Pirates of the Caribbean. Could be a good movie. Weeks was still a pretty poor film. I will say that it has a slightly better chance then your average video game film, but I think that's mostly because there is so much to work with. However, the game was presented perfectly....it's got a lot to live up too...The reason they all suck is because no one legit works on them, I think the director of 28 Weeks is the nearest thing to a real director a video game movie has had...everyone else is like Uwe Boll.

Silent Hill had a lot to live up to for me, the atmosphere was captured spot on but the rest was pretty garbage. The acting was comical, the direction was poor, the story was all over the place, and it was not dark at all... Silent Hill should have been a relatively easy film to make....Bioshock will be a lot harder than Silent Hill.

Well, I disagree that any of it was "garbage" per se, but it certainly wasn't up to snuff with the games. I very strongly disagree on Silent Hill being an easy film to make though... one of the more complex storylines present in gaming would be hard to translate to the big screen. This attempt was unsuccessful in many aspects, but I have confidence that the director could hit it dead on if he tried again. Sadly I don't think the sequel will ever see a release.[QUOTE="Crimtmp"][QUOTE="raven_squad"]Weeks was still a pretty poor film. Which sucks because 2 was my favorite. And it was pretty random that Pyramid Head was in the movie lol.
