Ive been SUPER excited about the sackboy figure/plushie in the CE since last year. but according to some reviews on the CE, people said the figure was cheaply made, chocolate brown, small eyed, egg-headed, stiff (couldnt sit like how it was done on the box cover), same as the one that had been on the market a while ago (but even smaller in size) and was actually completely different from how it was advertised. :(

Are the figures really bad? I really want to but the CE!!! I'd still buy it if it is acceptable, cause the costumes and bookends aren't that bad. please give some advice :)

It's definitely not what was advertised. Mine's pretty much as you described- gigantic egg head with a massive mouth and tiny eyes, and tiny body with huge arms. I wouldn't say it was cheaply made but I think it was really wrong of MM to include a picture of it in their marketing promotion and then release something completely different in the final product. That said, it's not terrible and it kinda grows on you over time. Plus the bookends are really nice and the extra costumes are always a plus. I've never been a big collector of costumes but if you are or if you need some new bookends, I don't think the extra price is unreasonable even if you don't like the plushie.

If it wasn't for the bookends I wouldn't be bothering with the collectors edition, I already have a Sackboy that I bought from Game a while ago, it's cuuute, although it's still not completely right. It's like they just can't make it 100% correctly.

When I first saw it I thought it looked just like the one that you could buy at the store separately and it was, so actually I was very satisfied with it because it was what I thought it would be...

It's okay.

My only issue is that the head isn't quite the right shape - it's a bit elongated and cannot be squished down due to the wire/plastic frame holding his mouth to shape.

I also don't mind that his joints are a bit stiff, because it means he'll hold up to the abuse my daughter will give him.

I may make my own at some point using different fabric and a real metal zipper - the construction isn't all that difficult.

Definitely not as good-looking as I expected, but not horrible either. They're OK, I guess.

The bookends ARE sweet though, no denying that.

Someone I know told me that the figure she got was cheaply made. It fell apart the second day she had it.

I do know a store where you can buy these separate. They look better than these tbh, never know though.

most extra "CE" products are cheaply-made gift shop items. if you want the real deal, stick to online stores dedicated to selling high quality figures
