are fat PS3's still being made?

They stopped making them. All stores are now going to sell the rest of them they have in stock, and then sell the slim consoles exclusively. If something were to happen to your PS3, you would get a slim.

Also, if you bought your console before the price drop, you would get the difference in price back on a Best Buy gift card. If you paid $399.99 for yours, and you returned it for the $299.99 model, you would get $100.00 gift card for Best Buy.

This is why I want to get rid of my PS3 Fat some how. In the future it might get harder and harder to find replacement parts since they don't make the parts for the Fat anymore.

i shop last night and i have seen some phat bnew PS3 being sold.

I think they stopped, the Slim's price is similar so I think it's getting replaced by the Slim.
