a long time ago gaming was viewed as "childish"....but now those children (us) have grown up....and it is what our age group does...ever since we were kids...so its ok for us to keep playing. im 24 and i dun plan to stop gaming until i cant play anymore lol.

Gaming is more than a book, its more than a movie, its a fully immersive experience that is NOT immature....

its a shame so many people miss out on so many good games.

You can always travel the world...but gamers travel many worlds :)

I really can't say. My interest in games was top when I was 16-20. Now I'm 21, I still enjoy games but I pick my games carefully now and try to focus on 1 or 2 at the time. Maybe I've just become wiser:P

Don't grill me for playing the sociologist but i have read up on the subject.

Games, the wider field that includesvideo games, have been a part of culture since the beginning, in every part of the world. It takes many forms, so if someone tells you are childish, you should say that they are also childish if, they are playing any games of cards, board games, watch sports regularly, any game of chance and betting etc etc.

Yes, board gamescan bemore mentally challenging if you got a good opponent,so tell them you play chess on your PS3! LOL

Love your guys answers...video games FTW!

Yes i also intend to continue to game until my hands fall off. It is simply the best hobby i can think of...its not like there is anything good on tv,(i have no HBO,SHOWTIME) and im not the type to pick up a book (though i feel it is healthy to read). Nothing else id rather spend my spare time doing.

I'm 45 and I'm more into gaming now than I have been for about 25 years. There's just nothing watchable on TV, and too many commercials. Games are 100 times more fun. I couldn't care less if people think it's "childish", quite a few of the adults I know are into gaming, and if being "mature" means sitting in front of the TV watching crap, but being "childish" means sitting in front of the TV doing something really fun, well, I know which one I pick. Besides, people who think they're superior to other people are usually the most boring and unlikable people on earth, and I have no desire whatsoever to be accepted by them.

Agreed. Now will my habits change as time goes on? Of course. Priorities are going to change and the amount of time and such will affect your hobby of video games. But do I think there is an age you need to stop playing them? Hell no!

I suppose I'll stop playing when I can't keep track of what's happening in the industry. I don't see that happening within the next 30-40 years so we'll go with that. 50 or 60.

I've been gaming since I got my first PONG console in the late 1970s...

... trust me, you don't ever have to stop. Gaming is a much more mainstream thing now and chicks play, so believe me, by the time you're in your 40s like me you're going to be seeing some amazing game tech... tell me you wanna quit! It's laughable. Some of you will "grow away" from it, but no one ever grows up too much to game...

It's a hobby for me. I turned 28th few days ago and really, I don't see myself stop gaming anytime in near future. It's fun, it passes time.

If you watch TV or movies on daily basics, it's the same thing.

I always thought i'd stop around 20 years. Oh how stuff has changed. It's not only a "kids" thing to do now. Still only 18 though, but I do not see myself stopping soon. It's just like a part of my life now lol.

if gaming is "childish" then why do they make MATURE games?

i am in my early 30s and have been gaming since the days of the 2600. games now more than ever are aimed at adults. those of us who grew up playing and loving them are now making them, and making them more serious. while there are still plenty of "childish" games (in somes opinion) there is an even broader range of games with much more adult topics. maybe you younger cats out there dont understand, because you didnt come up playing frogger and space invaders. but games like heavy rain, and the mgs series show how far games have come in terms of immersing you in a world with "real" "adult" issues and social ramifications.

the future of gaming looks so amazing that i will probably spend my social security checks on games and adult diapers.

No way is there an age i will stop gaming.

Maybe, once arthritis kicks in i will have to stop. but maybe sony will have a NATAL equivilent and i won't even have to stop then.

Better, i work with a 62 year old whostill games.

he actually joined me on KZ2 online on several occassions. who says there is an age limit?

ive noticed alot of ppl saying they may stop gaming when they have to use motion control

but my question is do you think sony would ditch the controllers altogether cos i dont think they will
