HERES A TRICK...

1) set your ps3 to auto turn off after an HOUR in the settings

2) charge your mic at the ps3 menu screen (or any other screen just make sure ur ps3 is on)

3) go to sleep.

4) when you wake up you ps3 would have charged your mic AND AUTO-TURNED OFF after an hour to save electricity

works everytime for me and its always fully charged. GOOD LUCk!

in other words leave your ps3 on before you go to sleep and the auto turn off feature of the ps3 will leave you with a fully charged mic when you awake. no down time without a mic at all

That works or another way I do it is to run Folding@Home & plug in my controllers & headset. While the PS3 is doing a unit, the controller & headset are being charged. I setup Folding@Home to turn off once the unit has finished folding.

Another trick is most cellphone chargers (I have the Motorola Razr V3) use the USB mini to attach & charge the cellphones (same connection that is used for the controller & headset). I just plug the cellphone charger into the charging port of the controller or headset & voila! It charges & works! BTW, it works when connected to your PC also.
