Hi, Im gonna be a college student and want to buy a small HDTV and want to go with a 22 inch sammy or philips. I was just wondering if how better the picture would be going from a 19 inch sdtv to a 22 inch hdtv.

Thank You for your input.

HD is a hell of a lot better I think. Part of my gaming is on a 19 inch HDTV in my small room and even at that size everything looks so clear and great. Not so great for TV cause I dont have a nice DTV thing or w\e but its great for gaming.

It's what I've got for a monitor, and I have used my PS3 on it occaisionally. Not my chosen display option, but the difference between it and a 19 inch SD would be quite significant. Definitely worth the upgrade in my opinion. Your also clearly used to a small display so no problem there.

i have a 22 inch LCD HDTV and i love it. while it may be as nice as 32" plus tv's it still is a considerable upgrade form SDTV and imo it's worth it cause it doubles as a monitor for my laptop

this is what im looking at. the only thing im worried about is the 1680 X 1050 display. Would that make my picture any worse or better on 720 p?

Your PS3 would detect 1080p, but you've just got to uncheck it from display settings, and it will run at 720p.

Would it effect the screen size of the picture, or would it still be sharp? sorry im a noob at this stuff.

Nah, it will still be a great picture at 720p. No loss what so ever. With this size monitor, 1080p is essentially useless anyways.

the difference between HD and SD is about the same as the difference between looking out the window, and then poking yourself in the eye and looking out the window....
