Ok i admit it! I bougth myself a PSP for its AMAZING graphics! I saw my friend play Wipeout Pure and i was like..WOOOOOW! I MUST get myself a PSP NOW! A tiny handheld with graphics like that??? Its Crazy! when i played Tekken on PSP i was in a state of Nirvana :) Also i love it when i play PSP outside and ppl come to watch and they all go: This thing is AMAZING! PLS let me play it pls pls...they even beg me sometimes..but dont let them touch my baby :)

I bought it because of the homebrew capabilities and i didn't want to miss the PSP's Twisted Metal or Metal Gear.

Its really hard to pick just one, but at first the multimedia capabilities, mainly so I could rip DVDs and watch them on the road. this was way back in early 2k5 before I actually got to use the sytem to see its limited compatibility, and realized its a little trickier than drag and drop. Especially since eventually the Ipod caught up and surpassed in this I was a little saddened. My second reason was the digital camera and GPS promised way back in 2k4 that still hasn't been released even though games like MGS POps use the GPS and there is a camera option in the friggin menu :P. At least the internet browser promise made it. If I would pick one up now in 20/20 hindsight it would definately have to be the graphic capabilities. The first time I saw the actual GTA III's Liberty City fully rendered as it was in the PS2 I knew the system was destined for great surprises.

i got for 1 reason only..... GAMES!!!!!!!!!!! I had a DS and regret buying it. Its sucks compared to the PSP.

the main reason i got mine was for the games. and i was also somewhat of a sony fan. it also made me jelous when i would see other people with their own PSP.

I don't have one yet, but I'm getting one for the multimedia capibilities. I was going to get a Zune, and thought I might as well get this instead. I love the idea of watching movies and a good sized screen anywhere I want, and get on the internet wherever I can.

I got it b/c it had everything I didn't have.

Mp3 player, video player, portable browser (well at the time I assumed a browser would be made for it), portable storage, handheld game system.

So I was like hey, if I can kill 5 birds with one stone, with less money, and only have to carry one device - then why not.

i bought it because i liked the games better than the DS and i always wanted an MP3 player and something to save my pictures on but ipods are such a rip off, so i was instantly drawn to the PSP :D.....its like the best investment i ever made i use it everyday and when i get my PS3 i'll be able to do even more 8)

Honestly? I got mine for Death Jr., Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee, and the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy UMD. Once I saw portable Hitchhiker's, I had to have it.

to be honest the main reason i got one was beacuse it is a sony product so you know it's built to last, and secondly i like how you can do so many things with it

I bought it because I new the it had ps2 graphics.. and the ps2 is the most populated console, and then I was like WHAAAT it can play mp3s, movie, games hold pics.. and DUDE that is not even half of what it can do... so I bought mine on the release date, and never got bored of it since... that is serisouly the only hand held that you can ALWAY find something to do on it

portable. plain and simple. i like handheld games. i only have had two consoles ever. PS1 and Gamecube. i like games i can take with me anywhere.

Originally for Crisis Core, Final Fantasy VII. But I should have waited for the PSP-Slim to come out. I bought my PSP early last year. I started using it as a multimedia player but that got old when I purchased a video iPod. Even though Crisis Core isn't making its way over here to North America this year, I decided to import it. I have been waiting too long. I feel kind of bad that every 6 months I buy a new PSP game. I've played several, but I only have 3. SOCOM which lasted a week, MGS: OP, and Parappa the Rapper.

Because the DS failed to bring anything innovative to the table. All the games were nothing special. Most of them were possible on the GBA. So I bought a PSP. And for the most part, it does what Soy said it would do. It brings the Playstation experience on the go. It was nice at first, but we are going through a horrible game drought right now. But it's still alot better than the DS.

No dis on the GBA, but finally having a portable system that had PS2 level graphics & gameplay was all I needed to get me hyped for the PSP. The multi-media & WIFI capabilities just made it even better.
