Huge is like an understatement... Shadow of the Colossus Ico Final Fantasy XII Soul Reaver 2/Defiance Okami Guitar Hero 1 and 2 (but you need additional accessories, they come with the games, but it makes them more expensive.)
Complete must haves? RPG: Final Fantasy X only to fully experience the full brilliance of: Final Fantasy X-2 Action-Adventure: Okami God of War Resident Evil 4 Shadow of the Colossus Bully (All of the above are some of the absolute best games I have ever played, for various reasons) Devil May Cry series...they just released a box set of DMC1-3 for $30, same with the Grand Theft Auto series, actually, for GTA3, VC, and SA. Platformer: I don't like platformers ; ; But I hear rave things about the Jak and Ratchet.
^Crap, didnt work fully. At the top, just pick ps2 for the platform, and however big of a list you want... id do top 50 or something. And you might want to do the same for ps1, though it doesnt have nearly as many good games as the ps2 (the 200th best game is the simpsons wrestling, which averages out at 4.1).
Here are a few games that I really like that I didn't see mentioned: Gran Turismo 3, Gran Turismo 4, Tekken 5 (or Tekken Tag Tournament or Tekken 4), Twisted Metal Black, and Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution. God of War II looks like it might also be good.

I have to say i mostly like your list of games already, I dont see any crap titles yet hehehe. Of course now that your taking suggestions from other people that will change.
shodow of colosus...was great... of course any street fighter games...tekken...god of war...onimushu series and devil may cry series...RE4 was good on gamecube...so i kno it cant b half bad on ps2....
