You can pretty much say that's it for the PS2 once God of War 2 cames out. I don't see anything worth getting excited about after that. The time to join the current gen is drawing nigh... Or is there anything worth looking forward to after that for you?
If you mean that the PS2 will be as dead as the Gamecube or the Xbox after God of War 2, you're sadly mistaken. Sure, there might not be anymore "high-profile" games for it afterwards, but I guarantee you that people will still be buying up the PS2.
There are a whole bunch of games that I want to get for the ps2. Some of them are already out, some haven't come out yet, not to mention there are games that I want to import.
