I´m not talking about the best one.
For me, it was Call Of Duty 3
There are several worth playing and I'm sure all of the usual "Killzone" and "Call" posts will swamp this thread, but here's a game you should really take a look at if you're looking for a solid FPS for offline play.
"Warhammer 40K: Fire Warrior" - Totally overlooked in the shadow of "Killzone" and a few others at the time, panned by critics as "HALO-Derivative"... great campaign, controls, graphics, excellent story & cut scenes... completely overlooked. Go buy it, seriously... it's under $10 most resale shops and worth every penny. Don't believe the hate, the game rocks. It's based on the SciFi univerrse introduced by Games Workshop's tabletop war game, this is a First-Person take that puts you in the body of a T'au warrior who's trying to save his commander from the Earth forces of the Emperor (and of course, the dark forces of Chaos raise their ugly heads along the way).
Try it, you'll like it!
I've been wanted to get a good FPS for my PS2 for the last little while. I was looking at Timesplitters FP, but I was also intrigued by Project Snowblind. Haven't played either one yet though.
I've played Black and COD3. Both were good, but could have been better. Especially Black, which felt unfinished but was still an awful lot of fun.
Time Spilters Future Perfect as the game seemed to play just right on the PS2. and if Killzone was more optizmized for the PS2, it would been my pick.
Hey I am the same guy that literally bashed the FPS genre since people claimed Black was the bestFPS shooter out. I picked up Timesplitters Future Perfect and I am telling you as your fellow gamer, it is a very good FPS shooter, much better than Black in my opinion.
I just watched some videos of timesplitter future perfect after reading these reviews here. And the game looks pre cool and fun actually. I might get that one soon.
