just curious, is sony going to announce what the last game for ps2 is going to be and the release date? or will they just keep making ps2 games for ever?
i don't think they will make games for the ps2 for ever sony would be concentrating more on the ps3 the final year of ps2 games sadly i believe would be this year
Nahh I wouldn't say this year. I think as long as it has 1st party support said console will always have games, note the xbox, I as a fanboy even had to admit 2005 was the last year for the xbox. M$ said it themselves they were no longer supporting it, once that was said everything hit the wall. One game after another got cancelled, 1st party hardware even came to a stop. Why would anyone support a console that company has turned there back? SONY i.m.o., hasn't given up hope on the PS2, they said they will support it for another 5 five years...seeing as how there keeping that promise (for the moment) I don't think the PS2 is going anywhere anytime soon.
They'll give support 5 or more years for PS2 hardware only, and not for the software. Eventually it may have some exclusive games, but from Sony it will be only GOW2. But actually I hope that they will translate some good games that are out in Japan for a while, like FM5, Tales of Destiny Remake, Legend of Mana, Tales of Symphonya, and some others that I forgot.
It is sad, but this will be the last year that will have good games for PS2! The best console, ever!8)
As much as I hate to admit it the PS2 doesn't have a grat deal of time left, a year or so. Look at the GC & Xbox we hardly hear much about them now since the Wii & 360 have come around.
Once the PS3 picks up the PS2 will die down I think.

Yes, but unlike the PS2, the Xbox and Game Cube aren't the best selling video game console of all time. The PS2 is still outselling all the other consoles next gen or otherwise.
