I tried to paint my supernintendo when I was about 10 yrs old. I did it with a black marker and it looked terrible. (By the way, I never finished doing it.) I wonder how you're going to paint with another color, I mean, unless you use real paint, you are not going to be able to do it with a marker!!

I think you're crazy to try it, but if you really want to do it, you should take the plastic case parts off the chassis (don't do this unless you know what you are doing as it is really fiddly to put back together), and spray-paint them with a specialised plastic paint.  Anything not designed for plastic might not stick, and will either chip off or discolour as a result.

From what I've read, you have to do many very thin coats to achieve decent coverage due to the rough finish, and you will have real trouble avoiding 'drips'.
