Hard decision between FFX and FFXII, but I would have to say FFX. While I like the new battle system, the story line and everything in FFXII, I though FFX was a little better.
Why doesn't anyone ever mention Suikoden V? I just picked this game up and... Wow! Awesomeness! Was it the ugly duckling of RPG's?

I agree, where is Suikoden V?. Of those I choose FFX, but I think Suiko V was better. It's a pity so few people have played that game, because is better than many more popular RPGS
FFXII for me. the way the gambit system works is amazing. and it's the most unique gameplay element i've ever seen in any RPG that i've ever played. some people might hate it but i really hope Square Enix isn't done using gambits. at least one more FF game with gambits! :x
Hahaha, this is a hard one. I think Final Fantasy XII is a great RPG, and I loved the "classic perfection" that made Dragon Quest VIII so worthwhile. FFX wasn't bad, despite some problems I had with the narrative, but, thinking back to when it came out, it was an amazing feat for a first-generation PS2 game. Kingdom Hearts is a personal favorite, but KH2 was somewhere in the "above-average" category for me, due to some gameplay and plot problems. Great choices, though.
FF12 but SMT:nocturne is not far behind, its definately one of the best turn based random encounter RPG cus of the demon fusing and auto attack and story etc, it just pwns.
I really loved kingdom hearts II, but ya I got to go with FFX hands down. I remember when I first played that game, it was amazing. It's a really great game and whoever didn't play it yet is missing out on something!
Of those choices, my favorite is FF12, closely followed by Kingdom Hearts. There's plenty of great games missing, though. Suikoden? Disgaea? Star Ocean? Xenosaga? The Xenosaga games are definitely some of my all-time favorite PS2 games. Then again, I'm a Xeno fangirl, so...yer.
