I know it's for PS3 and X-box 360, but can't they port it on a PS2 or PSP?

Not at all. The only way the ps2 could even concievably handle it is if they took all the resolution out of the graphics and took out frames of animation (like fighting games did when being ported to the snes, genesis, and ps1)

I want the pure unadulterated version when it comes out...

I always said that I was gonna wait for gtaIV before moving to next gen, but now I think im gonna say im gonna wait till SF4.

If it's being designed with the 360 and PS3 in mind, then absolutely not. PS2 and PSP versions would be severely stripped-down. Those wouldn't be "ports," but rather "stripped-down versions."

You can port from PS2, PSP, GC, and Xbox to Wii, PS3, or 360. You can't port the other way around.

Yeah, and with all of the current ports in mind, this is certainly true. Take a game like Tony Hawk's Project 8 for example (I know, it's a bad one, but bear with me). It was originally released for the 360 and PS3, then it was ported over to the PS2 and so forth. The difference? Horrible graphics and even worse technical issues. All in all, porting anything from next-gen consoles to anything less powerful than them is a bad idea and will almost always procure horrible results.

Exacly what he said. Dude just buy a ps3. I mean now the 80gig is 500 and that one comes with motorstorm free. ALso they have a 400 buck PS3(even though it doesint have BC,missing 2 usb ports and you cant put a memory card) its still a good dam deal. Just suck it up and put the money down.

Not really. The system I really want it for would be the best system for playing fighting games, the Dreamcast. Other than that, I would like it on PSP with online play.

It depends on the specs of the game whether or not it could be downgraded. If they use resolutions, framerates, and storage space that is beyond ps2's capabilities it wont work. I havent liked street fighter since the SNES days. I saw the trailer and wasnt that impressed. Lets see some actual game footage. Street Fighter has to come to me, I sure as hell am not going to it. Not when I have soul calibur, DBZ, and Mortal Kombat. What the hell does Street Fighter have against any of those? Nothing.
