I got my PS2 on september9,2001 it was 2 days before 911.when i got it fireworks where going off that day it was awesome and a beautiful day was playing on the radio from U2 which is what my parents got for me as a graduation present seeing as how i graduated from high school the previous year and ive had my ps2 since then and i will not trade it in and it still works to this day so yeah ps2 has been good to me since that day
Oh yes, I remember the day like it was yesterday. December 5th 2002. A day before my birthday. And yeah, it was a birthday present. Me and my mom went to some random shop to get the Spider-Man The Movie pack with the DVD and remote. I also got Kingdom Hearts with it. I didn't get a memory card with it, though. We kinda assumed PS1 memory cards would work with it. I didn't have any money and my mom thought they were to expensive to buy with it. So I got a memory card and Ratchet & Clank for Christmas, and barely played KH because I didn't want to start over or leave it on all the time.
I bought my first one Apr of 2001. I got Tekken Tag with it, but they were sold out of memory cards. I had to go to another store to score one. Thats all I remember.:)
I remember the day I got my first ps2 (first of four). I bought it with Zone of the Enders. Originally I had bought ZOE only for the MGS2 demo. After playing throught the demo a couple times, I started to play ZOE, and was amazed at how awesome the game was. It was also my first dvd player, so that gave me some cool moments as well.
yea i got mine on the first christmas it was out and i remember opening crash bandicoot: wrath of cortex and thinkin "what the hell? I don't even have a PS2!"
then i looked over a pretty large box and the rest was history...
oo i rememeber when i got it. it was christmas i got a xbox but i made my dad return cause i wanted PS2 not no XBOX. eventually I got my XBOX (again) later from my cousin
I remember the day I got my ps2. It was a rainy April morning when I put on my wig, baseball cap, trench coat, sun glasses, fake mustache, and rubber gloves. I went to Walmart's electronic section. I asked the clerk to let me see the ps2 console in the display case. He was looking at me weird because I was sweating bullets and putting on my rubber gloves. He was like here you go sir. I said, "Oh, thank you, let me see here.... what the heck is that." I was pointing at some distant object and the clerk turned and looked. I made a mad dash to the emergency exit and I heard in the back, "Security! We got a theft here!" I ran around the corner and a couple of Walmart security guys were waiting and then I was faked left and did a spin around them and they fell on the floor. I ran across the parking lot, and jumped into the nearest taxi cab. I was like, "Hurry drive, get out of here, ******* it." He started driving and I told him to let me out near my house. I got in my house and started playing my brand spanking new PS2.
Well, don't remember the exact date, or even the year, but I've had it probably about 3-4 years. It was funny because we were going to Blockbuster to rent one, but got there and found out they had just stopped renting them out. So my dad gave in and just bought me one. So I got mine only b/c Blockbuster stopped renting them out.

It was January 25th 2001, with super bust a move and SSX, which is the best snowboard game. I didnt wanna go to school, but i had to and i hated it. Best day ever
I got mine sometime in February 2002 when i was in 7th grade. I remember getting it with GTA3 along with Grand Turismo 3 and Twisted Metal, which came with the system at the time.
Feb 2007. I was console-less. Oldest console in the house was a Gamecube, though my sister owned that. Though she took that off to college with her, so I guess itwas a Nintendo 64.
Anyways, around my b-day I was in trouble, so I knew I wouldn't get anything. Though I begged and begged and begged....and then one day I found a ps2 on the table with two games-Xenosaga epi.1 and Grandia 3-in a bag.
I don't my parents saw me around a lot after that.
My best friend asked me one day if I like to play video games. I told him I used to play video games all the time. I stopped playing cause I broke my PS One from trying to mod it. I then got an Xbox and played Halo and KOTR nonstop for like 2 years and then that broke too. He got a PS2 for Christmas, but never used it so offered me his PS2 and Metal Gear Solid 2 for $75. The rest is history...
Well, i bought one for myself (i have one at my dad's) last summer, and i remember buying that and going to Blockbuster and buying GTA III, Killzone, and Jak & Daxter.
It was May 30, 2004 i believe, all i remeber about when i bought it was i got mine just as they were starting to phase out the big PS2 consoles for the new slim ones. Anywho, It was my b-day, i had gotten a wad of cash, so i drove back to my apartment, and had trouble deciding between a PS2 or an Xbox. Ultimately i choose the PS2, dont really know why, but i did, and the first two games i bought were transformers and SOCOM. Havent looked back since and dont think i ever will, love the system, love the games.
All I remember about that day was the fact I had the flu and my mom was taking me to the doctors office, and I begged and begged until she finally took me to Best Buy and they had only one in. This was way before Gran Turismo 3 even came out and it was in the massive blue box. I had it until 9 months ago when I got a slim, then I moved up to the PS3. The first game I got with it was Oni, but no memory card. Lol, it was hell.
i got my PS2 as a deal with my parents. Since my grades werent so great(i was in 7th grade in 2003)my parents decided to give me a deal in which i must get my grades up to get my PS2 since they know i have wanted one for a while. So around May about a few days after by B-Day i got one with GTA3 and memory card. I had to make sure i got the memory card
Yeah, I got it in Oct of 2002 with money I won gambling. I got it at Target along with Devil May Cry! And I bought it because I was dying to play DMC! :cry: Aw the memories!
Yeah, I was so amazed that I got one. It was probably Christmas of 2001. WOW. I got GTA 3 and Twisted Metal Black with it. Makes me so happy. And I STILL play GTA 3 to this day. So classic, and the best out of the current GTA games.
Myfirstps2 was born on Jan-2-2003 but it didnt manage to stay loyal and ran away from home on late 2005..so ibought aslim-ps2 onJAN-17-2006which is working for me everyday Iask it to.
I got my first one during SB of 2003. I was visiting my dad in NC before we moved, and him and my mom went out for a while, and surprised me with my PS2 and Vice City.
3 Years later, my PS2 had gone to the crapper, and I hit it a lot... so I bought a Slimline in the summer of 06.
i got mine in early 2001 and remember bringing it home, it was raining and i pulled it out of its box and it slid out and hit the floor :shock: nothing ever went wrong with it, though. :)
It was a day of living hell. It was xmas shopping season and the Xbox and Gamecube were just launched. It was nearly impossible to find any of the 3 major consoles of the time. When we finally found a PS2, we decided to get that. Though it took forever for the cashier to realize all we needed was to get rid of the security device on the game we bought with our PS2. When I got home I was filled with joy though hooking up my PS2 and playing it.
Ahhh, yes. Mid-way through 2004, I think it was. Got me R&C2, and Gran Turismo 3 for starters. Firing up GT3 as the first game ever on my new PS2, the sheer graphical jump from PS1 floored me. Just about had a nerdgasm. I played the hell out of both games for weeks.
Yeah I got the money for my birthday from friends (I think in 2001), I went to bestbuy a day or 2 later, I went to the video game section, and there it was. I saw Tekken Tag right above (Tekken 3 was one of my all time favorite games)....I got Tekken Tag and the PS2 and just stared at it the whole 30 minutes home, telling my mom how great it was, lol. I can't wait to get a PS3...
Back when Wal-mart had layaway, I remember getting my research check in May 2001 and heading to Walmart in Kirksville, MO to grab my ps2. It felt so good holding that blue box. One of my frat brothers went with me to pick it up. Things haven't been the same since. Although I've upgraded to the PS2 slim since, I still have my original blue box and receipt. Thanks Sony!
Oh, my God. I haven't thought about my PS2 in ages, I'm still not over the PS3 yet.
I got mine from Target. It was the day after it came out, and I had already made the reservations, like I always do, so I don't have to fight people to get a console :) Ooh, I remember that day fondly... prancing around NYC with a PS2 over my head. This crazy woman tried to snatch it from me, actually. So I just stared at her until she just walked backwards. She was mumbling to herself "Damn it, my kids wanted one." So I got home and I was like OMFG I'm finally opening up the PS2!!! And then I played it for about 12 hours nonstop, sustaining myself by shooting my cousin over and over in a war game. :)
I got mine on December 26th, 2003. I was 11 at the time and was very excited to finally be getting a ps2. My first game was Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain.
