Never had anything that actually made me quit. I've had to take a week or two off and think about what I'm doing wrong. I've also had to start many games over because I missed something or did something I shouldn't have. No game is too hard. We just look at the problem in a close-minded way.
As a matter of fact, yes. Mega Man X4. The last boss is so rediculous that I gave up. Of course, I did give up when I was like 10....maybe I should go back and try it again?
yeah I stop playing for a while because I might smash my ps2 in a fit of rage. Then I come back with a cool head and still lose!!!! Killzone, and that freakin tank

Yeah i stopped playing Resident Evil Code Veronica X for 5 months because i couldnt beat the boss that you face on the plane, the one that breaks into the cargo hold of the plane. Then when i went back to it i beat it first time and now it is one of my favourite games.

amplitude on insane mode, that slipknot song is killer and the last stage of frequency on the highest difficulty setting lol. i also never beat xenogears for PS1 but that was more cause i lost my memory card half way through and just refuse to start over.
Shinobi, even after getting class S on 2 missions (a boss level and the 2nd to the last level) I still quit because I got tired of fighting the final boss my playtime was around 40 hours though
second game was front mission 4 the final mission was so frustrating it has u protecting a plane and if gets damaged enough it flies away leveling up just didn't seemed appealing at that point of the game anymore
The 10 challenge in Challenge of Gods in God of War! I slammed my controller to the floor really hard! What I did next is I mute the volume then I beat challenge 10 in one try. Hahaha!
If ever I can't beat a boss or escape a certain part, I stop playing for days. And if still can't beat, I browse the walkthrough. Hehehe.
i've been a gamer all my life, so, going back to the topic, in ps2 and psx/ps1 there is no game there that i played that i didn't beat, some are hard, yes, but some, well, they're too easy they make you cry. in old consoles, there are a lot, i mean, almost close to impossible, maybe i suck when i was a kid, but then again, i was able to finish contra(in NES) with out loosing a single life. the games that i am talking about are: punch out and double dragon1. i haven't heard of anybody who can beat it. there are a lot of guys who tells me this ... how to do things... and all that yapping, they can definately talk the talk, walking the walk is another thing.
I find that most old school games are harder than the last and current gen games. I can beat dmc 3 on dante must die but I haven't been able to beat a single megaman game. I can never get through the ending castles. I know it's comparing two completely different games but I needed to feel good before saying I couldn't beat any megaman when little kids for years have been beating them. Â
Well, I stopped playing ICO at one point because I was too bored of it, then when I tried to give it another go I had the impossible task of trying to find a stick to set alight, as I had saved with the sword equipped, which was so hard I gave up altogether on it. Apart from that, I usually play on easy/normal difficulty, which makes games usually easy enough to carry on.
I still haven't beaten the first SOCOM. I'm still on the eleventh mission. Granted I haven't actually plaed the game in a long time, but I have beaten the second one about five times; ironic? Maybe one of these day I'll finally beat it. Until then, it holds the space of the only game that I've started and haven't finished.

I don't think I have ever given up on game because of difficulty achieving something, but I quit Splinter Cell because I couldn't take the idiotic control system any more. It was just too hard to make him do what I wanted to do. That game was a singularly poor experience for me, having enjoyed stealth action so much up to that point in MGS.
yeah i beat GOW in hero and spartan mode but i couldn't beat the game in god mode i'm in the final battle i cannot pass that point since its only for the secret message 1 i said "fck off"
stuntman, still havent beat it. of course i'm older now and i've tried playing it again, and it was much easier than i thought it was, still really hard. (on second last movie!)

Ghouls N Goblins for the Genesis. Damn it to hell the last level. It is on the level of impossibility to reach the last boss with your Magic Armor or even in your boxer. Which you can't pass it with your boxers because you need the magic armor to defeat Satan. Damn you capcom.
